More Complicated Then Expected
According to Howard Beck of the New York Times the New York Knicks are in no rush to hire their next head coach. They are reported as eyeing a few assistant coaches around the league that are still on active playoff teams. It is also reported that if some head coaches get fired after first round exits in the playoffs the Knicks would show great interest in them. So the list of possible coaching candidates has grown tremendously. The assistants that are mentioned are Brian Shaw (Lakers), Chuck Person (Kings), Johnny Davis (Grizzlies), Mario Elie (Mavericks), Terry Porter (Pistons), Tom Thibodeau and Armond Hill (Celtics). Some of the head coaches mentioned in today’s article that could be fired with a first round exit are Avery Johnson of the Mavericks (would be a great hire and Cuban would be stupid to let him go it’s not his fault Dirk is soft), Flip Saunders of Detroit (ehhh no thanks), and Sam Mitchell of Toronto (I doubt he would get fired even with a first round exit). So the speculation on who the next coach will be just got a lot more complicated and that is definitely a good thing. Take your time Mr. Walsh…….just take your time.

Avery Johnson would be a great choice. I don’t see him going but maybe if they get swept.
I was rooting for the Hornets since Paul is my favorite player but now I hope Dallas gets blown out the next 3 games.
