New York Knicks Player By Player Report Card
Instead of doing the End of Season Awards like I promised I decided to switch it up because nobody deserves any type of award.
(averages are points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals)
Jamal Crawford B - 20.6, 2.6, 5.0, .21, 1.01 - Say what you want about his defense but he was/is the most prolific scorer on the Knicks (even if that isn’t saying much). When he gets hot he’s tough to stop. Look at him cross one of the best point guards in the league Deron Williams of the Utah Jazz…..
Zach Randolph C+ - 17.6, 10.3, 2.0, .86, .21 - I wanted to give him a lower grade but how can I do that when the guy is a double-double machine? Yeah his passing skills aren’t up to par but who the hell do you want him to pass it too?
Stephon Marbury F - 13.9, 2.5, 4.7, .88, .08 - I was always a Marbury supporter through it all. But that all changed this season when he left his teammates out to dry in Phoenix. SO GET THE HELL OUT!! This man has gone insane for proof check this interview out from before the season on the show “Mike’d Up”…..
Eddy Curry F - 13.2, 4.7, .5, .24, .49 - What a waste of a season for Eddy Curry. The man has all the talent in the world and that is the main reason why Knick fans can’t take him anymore. I would kill for his size and ability…..what a waste. Eddy all us fans wanted you to do was try!!!! Look what happens when you actually try….
Nate Robinson C - 12.7, 3.1, 2.9, .83, .01 - Nate was frequently and unfairly benched early on in the season by genious former coach (feels great to write former in front of coach) Isiah Thomas. When he was given playing time he played well but he still has to learn to play under control. He’s still a pleasure to watch because of his pure love for the game.
David Lee B - 10.8, 8.9, 1.2, .68, .36 - “Double” Lee did his thing as usual with no playing time. Give the guy a starting spot and he’ll average 15 and 12. Just twenty-nine minutes a night isn’t cutting it. It would be cool if Lee participates in the Dunk Contest next year so he can win it like he did in high school.
I came across this video David Lee left Isiah hanging…..
Q. Rich - D - 8.1, 4.8 - Extremely talented player but gets hurt every year and doesn’t seem to care anymore. It would be nice to still have Kurt Thomas. If he could stay healthy this is what he would be able to do all the time….
Fred Jones - C+ - He gets such a high grade because he was one of the few bright spots this season. He’s a free agent now so who knows if he’s coming back but why not bring Jones back? Freddy can play D, bang it on anyone and he plays his heart out every night. He’s perfect for a back up guard.
Wilson Chandler - INC. - He didn’t play enough for me to give him a grade but Chandler should have been playing over Jeffries or Q-Rich all year.
Malik Rose - C - Can Malik just become an assistant coach already? Player/coach?
Renaldo Balkman - B - Plays his heart out every night, great defender, and great cheerleader. Balkman unfairly had bench splinters for the entire season. Hopefully the next coach realizes the role that Balkman could fill and gives him consistent playing time.
I can’t help but show Balkman elbowing the biggest cry baby/actor/Reggie Miller wanna be in Sasha “The Flopper” Vujacic. He did take a shot here but watch the way The Flopper plays in the playoffs falling down flopping everywhere. He is the type of player that is hurting the NBA.
Mardy Collins - D- - Has the talent but hasn’t displayed the confidence to earn consistent minutes.
Randolph Morris - INC. - So what was the point of getting this guy if they never used him? Oh yeah Isiah was in charge last year what was I thinking.
Jerome James - A+ - As much as I want too hate on Jerome for not living up to his contract I can’t. He shouldn’t have received such a lucrative deal in the first place so good for him he’s laughing all the way to the bank. Of course I would have liked to see the Knicks spend their money in a smarter way but I’m not the idiot signing the checks. His huge contract and his lack of production is the Isiah Thomas era in a nut-shell. http://knickscentral.blogspot.com/2008/02/i-wish-i-were.html Read that then tell me if you still dislike the guy.
Jared Jeffries - F - If F- was a real grade I’d give it to him, don’t get me started on this guy.
The lottery is almost here brace yourselves……

Funny, I enjoyed the JJ article. My only change of grade I would request is Lil Nate deserves a B for the year.

Eddy Curry deserves an A+ because he is the ONLY player in the NBA to give up 26 rebounds to Biedrins AND get dunked on by Chris Mihm.

PLAYOFF INFO: Chris Paul is owning the Mavericks. The Wizards are trying to kill LeBron. The Spurs might be the most underrated team ever. Duncan is the most underrated superstar ever. Dwight Howard is a beast. The Lakers are the best team in the West. Josh Howard is not a smart man. JR Smith deserves to get beat up by Nate again. Stevenson needs to learn that LeBron is better then him. The Hawks should be proud of their progress and they have a good future.

I agree with you that Josh Howard isn’t very smart for admitting that he smokes weed. It’s obvious that 3/4 of the L smoke but to admit it is just plain stupid.

Yes lil Nate deserves a B. Look at his improvement from when he first came in the league. Then he was benched this year and the second he comes into a game everybody starts playing w/ passion. I have to give it to him he had the most positive highlights out of the whole team. I think Curry had the most negative ones according to Dan S. lol
