Kobe makes All NBA first team

For the sixth time in his NBA career, Kobe Bryant was named to the All NBA first team.  Joining Kobe at guard is none other then point guard Chris Paul.  Look for these two MVP candidates to join together in Beijing in what could be one of the most electrifying backcourts ever.  Kobe was a unanimous selection, but surprisingly Paul fell three votes shy of being unanimous.  That is largely due to the overall strength of the point guard position in the NBA.

Joining them on the first team is Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics; reigning defensive player of the year, LeBron James of the Cavaliers and Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic.  This would make an excellent starting team for the Olympics.

On the second team, the backcourt was Deron Williams of Utah and Steve Nash of Phoenix, with Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitski at forwards with Amare Stoudamire in the middle.

The third team consisted of Yao Ming of Houston at center, Paul Pierce of Boston and Carlos Boozer of Utah at the forwards and Manu Ginobli and Tracy McGrady of Houston at the guards.

For those who are surprised Yao Ming made it (3rd team), so was I.  The drop off after Howard, Stoudamire and Ming is huge in the NBA. Although Yao only played 55 games; I can understand why the writers and broadcasters did that.

The first team is legit. By the time Kobe career is over, he might be on the All-NBA first team 10 times.

I can live with Yoa on the 3rd team. Before he got hrt he was having a great year.

As for the Shaun Powells article on Kobe, hey no matter what, Kobe will never be the darling to media. Hey Shaq is a darling to the media, but Kobe might have more fans than shaq.

Did Kobe put some of this stuff on his own self, yes, but he man up and a situation that could of been disastarious, came out terrific. You gotta give Kobe credit there. If you gonna give Kobe grief for the way he acted, then give him credit for how it turn out.

Sometimes I feel that Kobe is in a no win situation.

He’s evolved into a heck of a teammate and leader. When he retires, he might have as many rings as Michael. That’s not a typo.
