Rackin’ Up the Links 11/14
From the MVN Basketball Department:
- Celtics 17’s Ben Paulsen says the Celtics played their worst basketball of the season last night…en route to a 15-point victory.
- Bobcat Bonfire’s Serena Sanderson-Hays is enjoying the best start in Bobcats history.
- Bull Riding’s Erick Ward voices his concerns with Ben Wallace.
- Passion and Pride’s Anthony Gilbert and Jon Burkett have all the action from last night’s Sixers-Mavs tilt, with Anthony laying out the keys for the Sixers and Jon functioning as czar of the game thread (although he sure isn’t he czar of prognostication).
Around the NBA writing community:
- The Big Lead assures the pessimists that the NBA’s ratings are doing quite well, although the same cannot be said for one former Coney Island point guard.
- Hardwood Paroxysm’s Matt has learned something very intriguing about ESPN and the blogosphere.
- 20 Second Timeout’s David Friedman takes an early look at the statistical leader boards and is intrigued by what he sees.
- And finally, yes, we’re linking to Blog-a-Bull again. Matt has yet another amusing (but also quite on point) piece on Scott Skiles-related issues in Chicago. Besides the room it has afforded the Celts to begin sneaking away from the pack in the East, I’m not sure I can think of a better consequence to the Bulls’ slow start than the increasing level of amusement generated by Matt’s posts. It has been thoroughly enjoyable. Normally, I would wrap this unabashed bit of gushing up with a hip phrase like “game recognizes game” but that would imply a) that we’re athletes of some sort, b) that I’m hip and c) that I have some measure of game to speak of, none of which is actually the case. So instead, we’ll settle for some old-fashioned kudos. Much respect, Matt.
