Billups Practices
Via ESPN.com the AP reports that Pistons point guard Chauncey Billups practiced with the team today and should play in the first game of the Eastern Conference finals. Billups missed the last two games against the Magic with a strained right hamstring.
This isn’t very surprising. I think that Billups was held out of those last two games mainly because the Pistons were confident in their chances against Orlando even with him in street clothes. Rodney Stuckey was very good starting for him, and should get a fair number of minutes in the next series.
A healthy Billups will be very important for the Pistons the rest of the way, especially if the Celtics beat the Cavs. He’s their leader and the go to guy when a shot needs to be made. Detroit will be hoping that the Cavs force a game seven against Boston, as it’ll give Billups more time to heal and get ready for action.
