Bulls Can’t Talk To Porter

Now that mike D’Antoni is no longer an option, the Bulls have a long list of candidates to become their new head coach.

One, Pistons assistant coach Terry Porter, might have to be crossed of the list, according to the Chicago Tribune.

It’s not that GM John Paxon doesn’t like him. He would actually be a fine replacement for Scott Skiles, with head coaching experience and defensive knowledge. The problem is that Detroit GM Joe Dumars isn’t allowing the Bulls to talk to him, possibly because of the shaky relationship between him and Skiles. The Pistons do have a long lay off before they play another game and allowed the Suns to interview him for their job, so this obviously has something to do with the Bulls.
Porter would be a top candidate for the Bulls in my opinion. It’s too bad for them that he probably won’t be allowed to go there or that they won’t get to him in time. If he is done, then they’ll just have to move on.

The Bulls will now look to interview Jazz assistant Tyron Corbin and Lakers assistant Brian Shaw. In addition to these two, the Bulls will also be interested in many others, with  Tom Thibodeau possibly topping the list.
