Rackin’ Up the Links 10/1

Welcome back to Taking it to the Rack…for the second time today!  Trust us, we’re as surprised to be here as you are.  But fear not, you want have to put up with us (me) much longer today; in fact, just the opposite.

Certainly, we at The Rack love all you readers and want you to stay on this page for as long as possible to both read and comment to your heart’s content.  But all the same, there is plenty of really good work across the basketball online writing community.  Since we surely hope that at least some of our readership has a more interesting set of daily activities than cruising the web looking for compelling content on the big circle on the left arm of Eric Williams or Tony Battie’s Batman tattoo, we figured we would do it for you.

From now on, Taking it to the Rack will be adding a second post five days a week.  In addition to our incoherence du jour, we will also be providing you a postmeridian update with the best basketball-related links from around the Web, both inside and outside of MVN.  So without further ado, away we go with the first edition of Rackin’ Up the Links.

From the MVN Basketball Department:

•    James Pete and Amar Panchmatia of Cavalier Attitude are peeved about the ongoing contract stalemates between the Cavaliers and Sasha Pavlovic and Anderson Varejao.  Neither have kind words for the two men’s agents.
•    Celtics 17’s TenaciousT previews the upcoming season for the boys in green and announces some exciting personal news as well.  Congratulations, T!
•    Spur of the Moment’s David Thiessen confirms the signing of Marcus Williams for the defending champions.
•    The always entertaining Rob Houston ties up some Blazers odds and ends at The Inferno.

Around the NBA writing community:

‚Ä¢¬†¬†¬† Jeff Clark‚Äôs team previews initiative kicks off with Celtics previews from at Red’s Army, Loy’s Place, Green Bandwagon and, of course, Jeff’s own at CelticsBlog.
•    Dan Steinberg at D.C. Sports Blog discusses Hibachi’s new cartoon.
•    Tom Ziller of the FanHouse documents the continuing saga of the (insert location here) Sonics, who are now being sued by their fans.
•    The busy Doctor Dribbles of We Rite Goode busts out with two solid posts in as many days. The first is an eloquent response to a certain recent article about being the GM of lottery teams; the second an impassioned rant about a recent set of blog rankings.  Both are must-reads.
