Rackin’ Up the Links 10/23
From the MVN Basketball Department:
- Raptors Den’s Michael Montgomery laments the lack of attention afforded the Raptors by the TV networks. Ironic to see someone worried about the Raps’ national attention in this country given that they are, you know, situated in Canada. All foolish wordplay on my part aside, a hearty welcome aboard goes out to Michael, and we look forward to more of his work.
- Crazy from the Heat’s Vivek Wallace previews the upcoming season in Miami.
- Lakers Library’s Ed Ziti is thinking eight assists for Kobe Bryant this year. I believe he means per game. As opposed to, say, for the season.
- Spur of the Moment’s David Southern Hospitality Incarnate Thiessen is back with his latest reason to be excited for the Spurs this year: just one more year of Beno! Amen to that.
- Showboating’s Joe Boikess breaks down the latest preseason action and injury news from Dallas.
Around the NBA writing community:
- Blog-a-Bull’s Matt Bernhardt is really, really, really not amused with the line-up shifting and mind gaming of Scott Skiles.
- Need4Sheed’s Natalie has the inside scoop on the opening of the Pistons’ Read to Achieve program this year. Props to Natalie for a refreshing story about a group of professional athletes doing something pretty cool. Really sweet stuff all around.
- TWolvesBlog’s Derek Hanson takes an inordinately in-depth look at Sebastian Telfair. What remains to be seen is whether or not his Bassy optimism will last beyond the four seconds mine did last year.
- The Blowtorch’s Goathair makes a surprising confession about one prominent former Utah Ute.
Earlier today at The Rack: Time is now for Conley in Memphis
