Where is the Love

The obvious rigging of NBA games, coupled with the utter excitement of Euro 2008, has me uninterested in Thursday’s NBA draft. I think this league is moving away from sport, and into the realm of contrived entertainment, and ultimately it will hurt them. It’s already started to.

But I will say this. When it’s all said and done, the best player in the 2008 draft will be Kevin Love. Period. End of story. If Portland gets an opportunity to take Love, and they don’t, I will be shocked. He’s better than Rose, and Beasley, and Mayo put together, and he’s gonna have a good career in this league.

Faris even you don’t believe your bullshit. Love is “better than Rose, and Beasley, and Mayo put together”? You are a seriously retarded homer. Houston we have a problem.

I think he actually does believe it. Either that, or he’s got way too much time on his hands - who would go out of their way to write this crap if they didn’t believe it?

Faris - still holding to your claim that Oden is the 2nd biggest mistake of all time?

Oh and Faris you should probably do some research and actually write an article that is longer and more well thought out than a random comment. Ranting does not consitute as substance.

    Houston,
You know I like your blog, and as a Cavs fan living in Portland, I’ve always got my eye on the Blazers. But you are actually full of it in this post.

Kevin freaking Love is going to be the best player in this draft? Sure, like Adam Morrison was supposed to be the best player in the ‘06 draft? LOL, remember “Draft the Stache” by Gavin Dawson? LOLOL what a joke! And just like Keith Van Horn was supposed to be the next Larry Bird? Or just like Luke Jackson was supposed to be LeBron’s sidekick for the next 10 years? J.J. Reddick has been nothing more than an average role player (and BOY is that being generous) in the NBA after being considered as the best player in college basketball the previous season.

The only white American players to be All-Stars in the last 10 years are John Stockton, Brad Miller, and, of all people, Wally Szczerbiak. I know that there are bound to be people to get upset at me for those comments, but this can’t be a coincidence. Love’s up against some stacked odds. You can call me a racist bum if you’d like, but I don’t see Love being any better than a Nick Collison-type player in the league for the next 10 years. That’s solid, still. But to say he’ll be better than Rose, Beasley, and Mayo is just laughable. I know he’s from Lake O, but get a grip, man. Kevin Love? Are you f’ing serious???

Sorry sorry…not Houston. I knew he was too good to write shit like this. Faris, man, what the F? I should have known it was you.

Glad you caught yourself there Amar - its actually one of the hazards I’ve got sharing this space with another writer than turns this garbage out. I try to make informed conclusions or offer my own perspective and why I think it - and nothing could be worse than having my credibility get trashed because Faris still has a log-in to post on the site.

Man, Houston, sorry for thinking it was you in the first place. I really, really have to offer a deep, sincere apology because it’s definitely insulting to have anybody pin HIS words on you. Again, my aplogies.

Look forward to reading more on this site (hopefully from Houston and not from The Other Guy) in the future.
