Ellis to the rescue
We have seen the future and its name Monta.
Ellis was just money against the Wolves with 35 huge points and many clutch free throws as the Dubs held off a late rally. Last night he showed why Mully needs to get his extension done.
Baron also played with force registering three blocks and nailed a sweet lay-up late in the fourth. Kelenna Azubuike was disappointing however missing seven shots.
Watching the Warriors almost give up the lead was a terrifying thing. Everyone but Monta went cold and the defense became lax. The most aggravating moment of the game might have been when DJ Mbenga decided that it would be a good idea to take two jumpers neither of which came close to going in. Don Nelson needs to pull him when ever that happens.
Nellie however did make a good call leaving the starters in. With the big lead the bench could have been emptied but it wasn’t. When the lead dwindled the choice proved to be the correct one.
I’ll say it again Al Jefferson is a straight up beast. Every time he wasn’t defended by Mbenga or Biedrins, he simply destroyed the Dubs interior defense.
One of the best trends that was apparent last night was the Warriors’ improvement at the free throw line. They are the second best free throwing team in month of December. Sidney Moncrief is earning his pay check and hopefully this trend will continue.
