Baron is leaving the details to his agent and the W’s front office

It’s been widely reported that Baron Davis was ready to opt out of his contract this offseason, leaving the Warriors looking for his replacement. Even here, we’ve reported that it was likely that he would opt out of his contract this offseason, but maybe we were wrong.

According to Davis’ blog on Yardbarker, he’s serious about wanting to stay a Warrior. The post, titled I want to be in the Bay!! , states that he’s very happy with his situation in Oakland. In his post, he says the following:

“I know you been hearing a lot about me in the news lately. yeah I have too… been getting a lot of phone calls and questions asked. I want to be in the Bay! I think it’s a great area and the people are great but most importantly I have really good teammates and coaches. And that’s what it’s about… winning. The rest of the stuff I’ll leave up to the front office and my agent.”

My only question is, what ’stuff’ is there to leave up to your agent and the Warriors front office Baron?  If you end up opting out of your contract now, there will be plenty of Bay Area residents ready to throw you ‘in the Bay.’

We’ll keep looking into it…
