They Did It Again!

Holy Crap!

Is this Wizards team for real?  Did they really come back from 14 points down in the last 6 minutes to the best team in the NBA on their home floor!?

What a comeback win for this Washington team.  This is only a speed bump in an amazing season for the Celtics.  They will bounce back and continue a good run, but for the Wiz, this is huge.  This is a statement for them and their confidence will soar.  Gilbert’s injury is the best thing that could have happened for Caron Butler and this team because Butler is becoming a go-to guy at the end of games and once Agent Zero returns, they will have two guys who can hit game winning shots.  You can’t double both of them.

While they hit big shots late, it once again was the defense that led the way.  Boston’s offense is having problems, but it was the Wiz that caused a lot of those problems.  I’ve never seen such great defense for a consistent time from this team.  They contested every shot in the last half of the 4th quarter and battled for every loose ball.  They wanted it more.  It showed.  Just fantastic!

Now 2 games does not make a season.  They only have a day to enjoy this because they have another road game Tuesday night against the Knicks.  Like the Pistons learned on Sunday, you can’t sleep on that team.  They are horrible, but while it’s easy to get up for the Spurs and Celtics, it’s not so easy to get up to play the Knicks.  The Wiz do not have the luxury to have a bad game.  They need to come out and extend their winning streak to 4 and then have two days off.  This will be the 3rd game in 4 nights and it’ll be on the road, so I don’t expect a blowout, but they should be able to beat this team.

Kudos to the entire Wizards team for a great couple of days.  They deserve to be in the spotlight!

Didn’t see THAT one coming. I figured, hell, they could beat the Celtics on an off-night in an away game, but twice in a row, AT Boston? Awesome.

Great job to the Wizards and congratulations! Butler is coming into his own and your guys are playing like a team. I like the latest focus to “get serious” with the young guys. This team is focused, which is half the battle in the mediocre Eastern conference. That is mainly why the Celtics have looked so far, and it’s been most apparent on the defensive side of the ball.

In regards to the Wizards roster, are there any Wizards fans that can think of a trade they would want to potentially put together with the Los Angeles Lakers? I write at www.laballtalk.com and am looking for more info from around the league as to what trades the Lakers can explore. Post at www.laballtalk.com with any/all info!!!
