2008 National Signing Day

LSU got 26 “quality men”, as Coach Miles describes them, on National Signing Day Feb. 6.  LSU finished with an 11th ranked recruiting class according to Rivals and a 6th ranked class according to Scout.com.  Although the reigning National Champions did not get a top five class, Coach Miles specifically explained why each boy was chosen and what spot they were intended to fill.

The 2008 recruiting class is led by five-stars Deangelo Benton, a wide receiver out of Virginia, and Patrick Johnson, the highly touted cornerback from Miami.  LSU also had 11 four-star commits with an average of 3.58 stars.

Alabama took top rank in both polls with three five-star commits, including Julio Jones, and 19 four-star commits.

Pennsylvania quarterback Terrelle Pryor is still undecided and has not committed to any college, but says Oregon and Penn State have joined the race with Michigan and Ohio State for his commitment.
