John Brady Fired

In the middle of his eleventh season, Men’s Head Basketball Coach John Brady was fired on Feb. 8.  The Tigers are 8-13 overall right now and 1-6 in the SEC.

Brady led the Tigers to a Final Four berth two seasons ago and has a 192- 139 overall record at LSU.  The Tigers have finished first in the SEC twice under Brady and he is the third-winningest coach in LSU history. 

Associate Head Coach Butch Pierre with coach the Tigers for the remainder of the season. 

The Men face No. 7 Tennessee today at 2 p.m. and the Women, who are 8-0 in the SEC, face No. 24 Georgia tomorrow at 1 p.m.

    What an awful choice to fire Brady. But you have to like Trent Johnson as his replacement. Johnson did good things at both Nevada and Stanford. He’ll have to recuit a different part of the country, but he can get the job done in the SEC.
