Husker Recruit Close to a Decision, is it Nebraska?
4-Star Quarterback recruit Cody Green is a player a lot of Nebraska fans are salivating over. While the young signal caller has amassed over 30 scholarship offers, he recently trimmed the list of teams he’s considering to two, eliminating such national powers as LSU, and Alabama.
The race for Green’s arm has come down to two conference rivals, Nebraska, and Texas A&M.
After a an already incredibly intense recruiting cycle for the youngster, Green says he thinks he almost ready to announce where he will play football in 2009.
Green told Rivals.com that while he knows where he will be playing, he isn’t quite ready to let everyone else know.
“Yeah, I think I know what I want to do,” he said on Tuesday evening. “I’ll probably commit in a week, maybe sooner. I really don’t know. I don’t think I’ll do it tomorrow or anything; not unless I get a wild hair or something.”
Fans of the two teams are not the only ones holding their breaths and crossing their fingers. Green has said that he has not told either coaching staff yet either, citing the fact that the two teams have said they would give Green his space.
Should Green become a Husker, he would immediately be considered the preeminent recruiting grab by Bo Pelini since he became the head coach at NU

Bo’s Huskers won the Big XII North two years ago and the team isn’t that much different now, with the notable exception of the coaching staff. Pelini will play the best players and the other players will be working hard to see playing time. This is a compete 180 from the methods of favoritism and scholarship burning preferred by Billy C.
I seriously cannot see the Huskers losing a single game this year if their offense is as good as last year’s and if the defense can play in typical Pelini fashion.

Almost all of the players that won the Big XII north two years ago are gone. This should be a year of tempered expectations for Husker fans. The offense should have a solid running attack but WR and TE are big questions. The defense should have a better sense of who they are and what they represent, the Blackshirts of old, but can they learn and execute new schemes and coverages? The Bo Pelini era may start with a bang or a pop but we’ll all have to wait until september to find out. Go Big Red!

Osisbis - Why are you saying Bo’s huskers made the big 12 north two years ago. It wasn’t his team and he had nothing to do with it.
I dont know if your a Dellusional husker fan or a fan of another team. But there’s no way we are going undefeated, whatever your smoking please lay off it.
Most likely 8-4 or 9-3

Osisbs: I like your enthusiasm, but this team is radically different from the one that won a pretty weak big 12 north. We lost a lot of NFL caliber defensive players from that squad, and I’m not sure we’ve replaced them yet.
Glenn and Huskernation: I agree with you that this is going to have to be a season of tempered enthusiasm. We have a very tough schedule and a team still trying to find it’s identity.
We could conceivably start off 2-4 as even New Mexico State has some mighty powerful offensive weapons. That game is going to be a shootout. I’d take 8-5 with a bowl win, and be very happy with it. Heck I’d take 7-6 with a bowl win and be pretty happy.
