Terrelle Pryor close to his final choice
Terrelle Pryor is still the most sought after college football recruit on the planet. Pryor’s decision not to make his choice three weeks ago has led the campus’ at Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Oregon to begin a full court press to acquire Pryor’s services. It’s unknown which school Pryor is favoring right now. Pryor has shown a large discomfort over the past couple of weeks talking to the press about his choice, but it’s believed to be coming soon. Now that Pryor’s basketball season is nearing an end, after his team recently won the Class AA WPIAL championship game, it has been rumored that Pryor will be visiting Penn State on an ‘official visit’ as early as this coming Sunday. With Pryor’s official deadline on April 1, let’s take a look at some of the rumors floating around the internet:
The final word for Bobby Knight: Hypocrite
Growing up as a college basketball fan and as an Ohio State fan, you couldn’t help but follow the general, Bobby Knight. For those that don’t know Knight, he was a benchwarmer for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 1959-1962, including the 1960 Ohio State Buckeyes’ National Championship run. Knight followed his college career with six successful years at Army, that saw him go 102-50. He was then hired by Indiana, and over the next 29 years at Indiana, Knight’s teams would go 661-240. During that time, he would win three national championships, including the last undefeated national champion.
After being fired at Indiana amidst turmoil, Coach Knight would resurface again at Texas Tech, going a paltry-for-Knight, 138-82…that is, until he quit earlier this week.
National signing day may land Ohio State Terrelle Pryor and Brandon Harris
Ohio State already has 16 nationally and state ranked football players signed for 2008. The class is already in the top five in the country. It could get a whole lot better. Here’s a look at who is still considering Ohio State:
1. Terrelle Pryor–QB–Jeanette, PA–Do I really need to say anything about Pryor? There is new news on the wire however. After initially saying that he wouldn’t decide on Wednesday’s national signing day, Pryor once again proved to have an inate ability to keep recruiters on their toes by stating he would make the decision on the first day high school seniors are able to sign a national letter of intent to the college of their choice. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that friends of Pryor are stating that Pryor is leaning towards Ohio State. Fellow PA blue chipper Andrew Sweat, a linebacker who will be signing with Ohio State, recently met with Pryor. He left the meeting believing that Pryor was set to announce that Ohio State was his first choice. Supposedly, Pryor will make his announcement tomorrow at noon. If there’s one thing for sure, it’s that you NEVER KNOW what Pryor may do. Ohio State looks to be the favorite. We won’t know until the fat lady sings. No Michigan, I don’t expect you to get Pryor. The good news? One of your female graduates will get to sing once he announces for Ohio State.
Breaking News…and this is no joke–Pryor has now announced that he WON’T announce tomorrow, instead, he’ll just meet with the media to answer questions. He also stated that Oregon is out of the picture, and that he would revisit Penn State. It seems as though the Nittany Lions are making a late charge, after a good meeting with Paterno. The drama will never end…
Michigan late again in race for Terrelle Pryor
The NCAA football world is entering it’s biggest off season week of the year. For those of you that live under a rock, Wednesday is national signing day for NCAA football’s brightest and best recruits. No recruit is any bigger or better than Jeanette, PA’s All-World quarterback, Terrelle Pryor. Most experts believe that THE Ohio State Buckeyes and michigan wolverines are the front runners for his services, along with Oregon and Penn State.
On Saturday Night, Pryor’s Jeanette Jayhawks were playing local rival, East Alleghany on the basketball court. The real battle, however, turned out to be in the stands…and once again…Michigan proved to be late to the fight…showing just how ignorant that school up north tends to be…even with new administration.
