And the 49ers should draft Gosder Cherilus?
So many people are telling me this may be the safest choice at #29 for the Niners. Already revamped at wide reciever, the team needs someone to help protect the one who throws the ball.
Enter Gosder Cherilus.
The 6′7″ lineman from Boston College can clearly help block the weakened offensive line. And hey, someone needs to help opne up holes for Frank Gore. The biggest reason the Niners offense was so bad last year was not only Alex Smith’s inability to make good decisions in the pocket, but also it was the offensive line not being much help. Frank Gore had a mediocre year and Alex Smith got embarassed by Rocky Bernard. Matt Ryan will get drafted real high, but it was the help of Cherilus that brought him to Heisman candidacy.
#77
He never missed a game in his college career and the fact that he is 319 pounds really give the team a good potential big guy to clog the middle.
One of the safest positions is the offensive line position. He can block right up the middle, which looks to be his best skill. So will this guy be the answer? I don’t know, but if the Niners do look at his way, he will definitely help the team as it may look like he can be an instant starter.

This Guy Is Big, Pretty Strong But Not That Strong If You See The Workout Video.. If You Saw Clips He Can Dominate If The Defender Goes Straight Up With Him, But If The Defense Has Anyone With Speed He Gets Right By Him and Causes CHERILUS To Hold.. That Being Said I Don’t Take Him With Our First Round.. Bottom Line Is There Are Plenty Of Big O-lineman That Have The Same Attributes As Him.. I Believe He Gets A Little More Hype Because Of The Fact That He Was Blocking For MATT RYAN.. Don’t Forget We Have Big Jonas Jennings at The Left Tackled And Last Yrs rd1 Pick Joe Staley At The Right Tackle.. Guard Is My Choice At The O-Line.. But My Choice In The First Round Since We Have So Many Needs Is The Best Player At That Time.. But I Would Like To See A D-Lineman That Can Create Some Pass Rush, Our Strength Is Our LB with Willis and Lawson, and Secondary With W.Harris and N.Clements. Those Are All Great Tacklers and Defenders.. You Add Some Pass Rush And That Helps Them Out And Makes Them Even Better.. Someone I Like But Might Be A Stretch Depending On How The Draft Turns Out Is DE Phillip Merling From Clemson.. 6′4″ 276lbs.. Which Is A Great Fit and Can Play the 3-4 or 4-3.. and Someone I Also Like In The 2nd Round Is DT Joseph “red” Bryant From Texas A&M.. 6′4″ 318lbs.. Kinda Tall For A DT But Thats Great Size Needed On Our D-Line and Although He Is Taller He Plays Extremely Low.. Random Stat About BRYANT.. (in 125 running plays directed at him, opponents managed to gain only 89 yards (0.71 yards a carry) and collect two first downs on the ground. He also blocked three kicks during his college career) Pretty Damn Good Huh?? If The 49ers Were To Get These Two Guys I Believe We Can Have Great Success On A Very Promising Defense and Not Only For Now But With Our Young Players.. Years To Come.. I Believe We Address The O-Line In The 3-??Rounds.. and I Do Not Believe With Our Recent Additions At WR That We Need To Take One.. Bryant Can Be Very Good, Nobody Has Seen Him Since He Was Overshadowed By Fitzgerald and Boldin, Bruce Knows The System and We’ve Still Got Battle and With Martz Running The Offense Will Make Plays With Gore, Foster, and Vernon Davis At Receiver.. But Like I Said Before.. What Our Defense Lacked Last Year Was Playmaking On The D-Line, With Recent Addition Justin Smith and More Great Help.. There Could Make Even Better Plays Such As INT’s and Fumbles Forced as We Have The Best Duo of CB’s In Causing Fumbles With Clements and Harris They Have 32 FF In There Career Which Is Very Unheard Of At The CB Position.. Right Now Opposite Of DE Smith We Have Ray McDonald??? and DT Is Aubrayo Franklin Who Has Only 66 Tkls and 1 Sack in 5 Yrs??? Not Good!!!!!!!
