49ers sign rookies Smith, Wallace and Balmer

Sorry for not getting back to you all in time for some important rookie signings. In New York right now and Internet access is limited for me since I am busy most of the day. But this is what has happened in the past few days.

July 22- CB Reggie Smith (Oklahoma) signs a four-year deal with the Niners. The team, which on paper looks pretty good in the secondary, signs a great talent. I think the hardest thing for him is to find a roster spot since I have big hopes for Tarell Brown to make an impact.

July 23- C Cody Wallace (Texas A&M) signs a four year-deal with the team. There could be a chance that Wallace could challenge for the starting center spot. Will keep my eyes open on this one.

July 24- DT Kentwan Balmer (UNC) has a new five-year, $8 million deal. That finishes up all the rookie signings. Balmer could find his way into the starting lineup, but has a long way to go to make an impact on the team.
