Bears drop another ‘Must Win’ game

Seeing that some of their fans were still holding out hope that the Chicago Bears still had any chance at a playoff spot, the ‘Monsters of the Midway’ decided to take those hopes, and effectively ground them under their collective heel.
Rex Grossman is back as the starting quarterback, and actually played well enough to win the game, had the Bears defense played better. However, Grossman did have a fumble, which may have meant the ball game in the end.
Cedric Benson actually had a very good game, for the number of carries he got. Benson had just 11 rushes, for 89 yards and a touchdown. Why he didn’t carry the ball more, when he was finally looking effective is beyond me. Maybe Lovie Smith isn’t the coach for this team after all.
I’m a Lovie Smith fan, I think he could be a good coach for a long time, but he has put way too many games on shaky quarterbacks’ shoulders, and while it didn’t completely sink the team this team, a quarterback like Rex Grossman should not be throwing the ball 37 times.
Bernard Berrian continues to mature into a #1 receiver, seemingly having put his case of the dropsies that plagued him earlier in the season, but even his 9 catches for 102 yards weren’t enough to help the team get back to .500
