From the Mind of a Bears Fan

I find myself utterly at a loss as to what to write about this week. I tried to think of some original perspective from which to talk from. Nope, I got nothing. So what exactly do I have to say? Lets go Bears.

The Bears have the opportunity with each coming game to become one step closer to the highly improbable playoff run, or the season ending loss that will make each game just one more chance to debate how we need to improve for the following season. Bears…Chicago faithful…I want to see that playoff run.

In my opinion, there is no truly unique fact that is going to make the Bears win six consecutive games. Honestly, we haven’t even been able to win two consecutive games, so the odds of us winning six are about as probable as Michael Vick becoming a veterinarian. I don’t care. In my mind, the Bears have as good a chance right now to make the playoffs as anyone else. It doesn’t matter that we’re beat up, worn down, and digging into the depth chart for starters.

Every logical part of me feels the need to say, “But what about the quarterback situation? Where has our defense been? What happens now if Adrian Peterson goes down?” I can’t worry about such trivial things that are so far outside my control that the stress I would have would be for nothing. Come tomorrow, the Bears are going to show up ready to play or they are not. I can only hope that its the former.

This is spoken from the mindset of someone who has been a fan of the Bears as long as he has been able to understand the game. I have no words of wisdom for the Bears now. They are in total control of their own destiny. I will root them on from this day forth regardless if they win or lose, because a loss wouldn’t mean the end of the world. However a win would mean that there is a chance to do something that absolutely nobody would have predicted two weeks ago. Thats all I have. Like i said in the beginning…LETS GO BEARS!
