Bears Unable to Battle Vikings

What is there to say.  Hey, at least we were leading at halftime right?  At least for those twenty or so minutes between halfs, I contemplated the Bears being the most unlikely of playoff contenders.  I tried to figure out just how many teams would have to lose and who would have to beat…wait…what was I thinking.  Sure enough our lead slips away and the Bears for the nineth time this season have succeeded in crushing my hopes. 

This Minnesota game was very winable.  Our defense looked much more impressive and had one of the best firsts halfs of football that I’ve seen them play all season.  Brian Urlacher looked like a his old Pro-Bowl player self and showed no signs of injury.  I was also incredibly happy to see Nathan Vasher do so well in his first game back.  He has solidified the idea in my mind that when healthy, he is a valuable asset to the team and a potential play-maker.

Kyle Orton, I salute you as the first Bears Quaterback all year to consistently step up in the pocket when pressured.  It’s a skill you should really think about sharing with your other teammates.  You didn’t do fantastic, and while we still lost the game, it was not due to your performance alone.

Oh well.  Another season with the Bears missing the playoffs.  Things could be worse.  At least we are not crying tears of joy because we’ve won our first game all year.
