Bengals Defense Struggles Most Against the Worst
The Cincinnati Bengals defense headed into Saturday night’s debacle ranked 26th in the league and riding a wave of optimism. After watching themselves dissolve vs. an offense ranked in the 30s for the 3rd time one gets a quick idea of how frustrating the defense’s struggles are.
After losing to the 49ers, the Bengals have now lost games to teams with the 30th (Buffalo), 31st (Kansas City) and 32nd (San Francisco) ranked offenses. In those games the Bengals defenses allowed them to score 33 (Buf), 27 (KC) and 20 (SF) points respectively. Those teams seasonal point averages: 15.9, 14.0 and 13.6. Now that is a statistic to make any defensive coach puke. Question is will it cost any defensive coaches their jobs?

It’s been a depressing season. I feel sorry for you having to write about it. What to make of the rumor posted at profootballtalk.com that TJ and Chad are getting special treatment while constantly yelling at Carson, while the staff ignores it all? That SF game was pathetic and summarized the season. We need to seriously shake things up. We’re regressing. The 1 game playoff season is a distant memory.
