Odell Thurman Facing Indefinite Suspension???
If Bengals fans were looking to be reassured regarding the departure of LB Odell Thurman, look no further than Jim Trotter’s report on SI.com today . If the report is true and Odell has failed yet another drug test, his once promising career is now likely over. While his representatives continue to say he is dealing with “family issues”, the fact that no teams claimed him on waivers (on a rookie contract with no bonus) nor brought him in for a workout spoke volumes regarding how he was regarded around the league. Cutting Thurman prior to the failed test also saves the Bengals from further damage to their already sullied reputation regarding character issues. It goes to show the team’s inability to trust Thurman not missed voluntary workouts was the reason they cut ties with him.
With June 1st passing this weekend, it will be interesting to see if the team signs a veteran linebacker to improve their tenuous depth at the position (see previous article regarding linebacker depth). Signings after June 1st are not considered when the league determines the allocation of compensation picks.

Wow, two moves the Bengals are looking rather smart on. First Odell, now Chad returning with his tail between his legs.
The Brown family making wise moves?? Shocking!!!
