Browns Bites

Browns Make Lambs of the Rams

They were down two touchdowns early and never gave up. During the new era of the franchise, this scenario would have been the typical game in which the Browns fold and hand over the game on the road. Instead, after spotting the Rams those fourteen points early, one could argue that the Browns actually dominated the game the rest of the way.
The Browns finished off the Rams 27 - 20 in St. Louis and earned their first pair of back to back wins in three years.
Sure it helped that Steven Jackson, everyone’s favorite fantasy football bust of 2007, left the game in the first half with another injury. I say so what? A win is a win and the Browns know that by now after being one of the most injury stricken teams in all of sports heading into this year. The hell with them, let someone else suffer for a change.
How about Derek Anderson, everyone’s favorite fantasy football suprise of 2007. The guy finished the game with a QB rating over 140 while throwing 3 more touchdowns and zero interceptions. Anderson is now second in the NFL with 17 touchdown passes, while most importantly, really performed well on the road for the first time this season.
Also of note is Braylon Edwards. You know a guy is having a monster year when he can draw a 15 yard penalty, following a big catch, for tearing off his helmet and strutting like a peacock down the field (shades Dwayne Rudd a few years ago) and yet all is forgotten because he actually made up for his mistake. Edwards finished with 8 catches for 117 yards and 2 more touchdowns. Braylon is now tied for second in the league with 9 TD receptions.
Sure, plenty of people around town my not like the sheer bravado of Braylon Edwards or of tight end Kellen Winslow. However, many people could argue that you need players with that kind of brash confidence (and talent) if you ever plan to climb your way from the league cellar.
So far through seven games it looks like the Browns have finally climbed their way out.
