Browns Bites

In Cribbs We Trust

Is it me or does anyone else feel that if we didn’t have Josh Cribbs the Browns would not be a 6-4 football team.

Cribbs had 306 return yards on Sunday against Baltimore and is averaging 147 yards per game this season. This guy is an amazing player and should be recognized this year with a pro bowl selection.

Impressed with his performance Jamal Lewis called him “our 12th man on offense”. That’s pretty high praise for a special teams player.  But it’s true, Cribbs puts this offense in good field position almost every time he touches the ball.

After we lost that game on Sunday and then we didn’t it shocked me to see that Baltimore still kicked to Cribbs. This guy is the reason that you didn’t win the game and you still feel that in overtime, where the first to score wins, it is okay to kick to him and allow him to work his magic.

Even though the Browns lost last week against the Steelers you would think the Ratbirds would have noticed that Cribbs put them in a position tie the game, yet that cocky Brian Billick thought his team would be the one that could stop Cribbs in his tracks.

Watching Cribbs the past few years I thought we had good player but after Sunday I realized we have a special player.  In his last kick return he carried the pack of Ravens trying to tackle him down field for another ten yards.

Ten games in and teams still kick to Cribbs, I wonder what it will take for them to go away from him. Even if teams do start kicking away from Cribbs, his presence will still be felt because shorter kicks will still give the Browns pretty good field position.

It’s a matter of will and Cribbs has shown he has it and the rest of the Browns are following suit by turning his amazing ability to return the ball into points on the scoreboard.

CRIBBS IS AWSOME i see the Browns going to the playoffs this is what i think will happen with the rest of the season for the AFC North(AFCN)

Browns(12-4) will win out and win the AFCN and clinch a playoff berth

Steelers(11-5) or (10-6)=They will get the Wild Card and face the Chargers that will be a good game to watch

    Beat miami
    Beat or Lose to Bengals
    Lose to NewEngland
    Lose to Jacksonville
    Beat St.Louis
    Beat Ravens

Ravens(5-11) or (6-10)= the ravens will NOT make the playoffs but will be 3rd in the AFCN

    Lose to Chargers
    Lose to NewEngland
    Lose to Colts
    Beat Miami
Lose to Seattle or Beat Seattle
    Lose to Steelers

Bengals (6-10) or (5-11)= The Bengals will be LAST in the AFCN not even a factor in the AFCN

Lose to Titians or Beat Titians
    Lose to Steelers
    Beat St. louis
    Beat 49ers
    Lose to Browns
    Beat Miami

I agree with your thoughts on the Ravens and Bengals and I wish/hope the Browns could win out but I don’t think they will. All remaining games are winnable but this defense has made some pretty bad offenses look good and I think at some point it will come back to bite ‘em. 10-6 is a definite possibility and hopefully that will be enough to make the playoffs.

The Steelers are pretty good and will probably win the division. Facing them in the playoffs is a real possiblity and hopefully that’s where the Browns will get that monkey off their back and knock Pittsburgh out.
And yes I agree CRIBBS IS AWESOME

    Abe,

Cribbs is phenomenol and definitely has special individual gifts.

But a player, even as good as cribbs, does not return the ball consistently like he has without a lot of blocking help by the rest of the kickoff team. let’s start giving those guys some credit as well.

I’m not even sure who does most of the kickoff blocking, maybe someone could do a little ditty on who those guys are.

    go browns!
