Browns Get Five Primetime Games
The NFL released the schedule for the 2008 season and I have to say I am quite surprised with it. The Browns are in for a tough season which we had already forecasted but I am extremely excited about the Browns receiving five primetime games.
We went from not have any the past few years to having five this upcoming season. I know this has to excite the Browns organization, players, and especially the fans. We have one of the most exciting teams in the NFL and I believe they will live up to their potential.
The games, including three on Monday night and one each on Sunday and Thursday, are all really good games for the Browns and the NFL. Having a successful Browns franchise is really exciting because we actually can renew are storied rivalry with Steelers, one of the best rivalries in all of sports. After all we all know it hasn’t been much of a rivalry the past few years.
This extremely tough schedule was worrying me a lot but I expect the Browns to compete and win a lot of the tougher games on their schedule. We are playing seven playoff teams from a year ago but that is still not the toughest schedule in our division, that belongs to Pittsburgh.
With the schedule the way it is and Pittsburgh having the toughest schedule in the league I really expect the Browns to finally win the AFC North division and make a strong run in the playoffs.
Maybe I sound too confident but why not? It’s been a long time since the Browns were good enough to be respected in this league and now that they are they are rewarded with five primetime games.
Go Brownies!

with the tough, common schedules for the entire AFC norht, the divisional games will be VERY important.
if the browns can go 4-2 or 5-1 i think they will be in good shape especially if they can at least split with pittsburgh.
.500 or worse in the division and we will be watching the playoffs without the browns again.

The browns and the steelers play the exact same schedule with the exception of 2 games. I don’t think Cleveland should depend on Pittsburgh losing because of their tough schedule. They need to make the playoffs on their own. Also, your grammar needs work. And to Kevin, you’re really stepping out on a limb there, saying that going 4-2 or 5-1 would be a good thing. Pretty sure that goes without saying.

After a coming out party last season, its clear the Browns deserve some public television time. Who knows if they can replicate 2007 and perhaps find the playoffs this time around, but it’s always nice to see new teams in the spotlight.

Snark much?
He didn’t just say it would be a good thing. He said a 3-3 record would probably result in the Browns not making the playoffs. There’s a different between the two statements.
