Do Bucs Fans Really Hate Michael Vick “That Much?”
I found this on a Buccaneers Message Board today and wondered, do Bucs Fans really hate Michael Vick that much?
Granted, he is the QB of a Division rival, but do we hate Jake Delhomme or Drew Brees? I don’t think so.
And I for one, don’t “hate” Michael Vick. Hate is such a strong word.
Jake (Delhomme) cries a lot (mostly to the zebras) when things don’t go his way during a game — ok, make that A LOT! And Drew (Brees) seems like a well rounded level headed kinda guy — MUCH better then that space cadet (QB) they used to have, which would be Vick’s cousin.
I suppose on one hand, you can say that Vick makes things happen on the field — And that’s a good thing for the Falcons. So am I to believe that we should hate him for that?
My wife frequently says that she likes watching Vick scramble, that he’s good at what he does. I like seeing him scramble too, especially when it’s due to being chased after by Bucs defensive linemen.
I remember one particular Bucs-Falcons game from a couple of years ago. Everyone was asking (the Bucs) “What are you going to do about Michael Vick?” No one asked the question “What’s Michael Vick going to do about the Bucs Defense?” As I recall, the final score was Bucs 27, Falcons 0. What exactly did Vick do? Well, he ran a lot — For his life!
I suppose some will say they hate Vick because he got away with trying to smuggle pot through an airport. He wasn’t held on charges, he was released, wasn’t he? While the Miami Police Department claim a different story then the Officially released one, the fact is that Vick wasn’t charged with anything. Was it swept under the rug? Who knows?!
Or because he’s the highest paid player in the NFL and doesn’t deserve it. Well, I guess he probably doesn’t deserve that much money — Afterall, what have the Falcons won since Vick became their QB? For that much money, the Falcons should be having back-to-back-to-back Super Bowl seasons.
They might say it’s because he disrespects his own fans. I have to admit, shooting the bird at the fans probably wasn’t the smartest thing he could have done, but he apoligized, didn’t he? I’m pretty sure he did.
Face it, Michael Vick, Ron Mexico, or whatever you want to call him is really no different then athletes of years ago.
What’s there to hate?

Im a bucs fan and i definetly hate vick. He is just as bad T.O. And I agree that he doesnt deserve all that much money hes not that good, sure he can run and he has a decent arm but still does the falcons go anywhere nope. He gets scared when its time to face the bucs because he knows they are coming for him.

I hope they stick it to him so hard. I don’t want to hear this crap from him, “Oh, it was my cousins or family and I didn’t know what was going on.” C’mon, Vick, man up, you sick bastard. It’s your property so don’t think for a second you didn’t know what was going on there even if your were not there. Sounds like to me that the Feds did their homework and they have evidence against you. Have fun losing milliions and getting it up the butt during your jail time. YOU deserve worse! And for any of you sick punks that think it’s cool to have a pit and fight them, you’re all a bunch of idiots and burn in hell for your sins.

supposedly vick didnt get any money for his participation in the dogfighting….so am i to understand that you participated strictly for the fun of it? you enjoyed watching these poor dogs rip eachother apart and suffer…for entertainment? not for food, not for money, no other reason than your sick evil disgusting useless desire to watch to watch living things suffer and die at your control. how pathetic are you. there is no vindication for you as far as im concerned. a mistake is something you do accidentally or fall into once…this was an ongoing perversion from a man that has no need to reduce himself to such abhorrent behavior. yes i have strong feelings of hate towards this man. I hope he never plays again.

I hate Michael Vick and I do not understand why he would CHOOSE to do something so horrible. He stands around making gang signs and getting involved in destroying and torturing these innocent animals that have no choice. i am a big football fan but you could not pay me to watch any team that Vick is a part of. I wish they could put HIM in a ring and force him to endure a beating to the death. but since that wont happen, I hope he goes to jail and is never allowed to play again. YOU MAKE ENOUGH MONEY TO ACTUALLY DO SOME GOOD IN COMMUNITIES THAT NEED YOUR HELP….LIKE LOUISIANA..INSTEAD YOU CANT FIND ANYTHING BETTER TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?????

Who are these people that keep defending Michael Vick? How can you defend actions so cruel and vicious? Did you not hear him admit to helping kill 6 to 8 pits? because i guess each bloody horrible death was too uneventful to remember whether it was 6 or 8. or maybe once he was through he discarded the poor suffering dog and didnt bother to check if he was truly dead or maybe just near death. Did you see the poor pit on tv with scars indicating rips and bites all over his little face? this guy is just twisted.

I just read that Michael Vick made a statement that he didn’t want people feeling sorry for him. SORRY FOR HIM ARE YOU KIDDING ME; HE IS THE SCUM UNDERNEATH THE SCUM ON MY SHOE!!!!! The only justice I see fit for his actions because he is such an unbelieveable wanker is that his punishment should be this: He should be taken out & treated the same way he treated those dogs & then and only then will there be true JUSTICE! As far as I am concerned he is not able to be saved & who wants him to be saved he was a professional athlete making millions of dollars he grew up knowing right from wrong & all this crap about him growing up in a rough neighborhood GIVE ME A BREAK; that excuse is so old its got mold on it from 50 years ago. GROW UP VICK if you can you WANKER!

The bastard deserves to be shown the same compassion he showed those poor dogs… NONE!!! 23 Months? - Piece of cake for a spineless, dog beater….. Hope they have really BIG, MEAN DOGS in the jail where this slime bag will be held and the guards use them to terrorize his miserable ass, for his tenor! - Karma is a BITCH… and Justice has not been served, here… Justice is AN EYE FOR AN EYE. - so pull out that baseball bat, this bastard has it coming to him!

my God in heaven, what mike vick has been accused of and subsequently charged with is abominable, and he will pay dearly for his involvement. i’m not a pet owner and i don’t believe in hurting any animal for personal gratification, i even understand the personal links people have to their pets. But judging from many of the venomous hate filled comments about micheal vicks unfortunate human error in decision making, i think alot of these links to animals are a bit overboard. I mean come on, the man is still a human being and humans sometimes make decisions that have dire consequences. people have a right to be outraged about such crimes, but even JefferyDalhmer the american cannible didn’t receive this much hatred , he ate someones child!!!
