Wilson and Green done for season, Barr cut
Adding insult to injury, or should I say injury to insult, the Arizona Cardinals lose Pro Bowl safety Adrian Wilson and starting cornerback Eric Green for the season. This comes after the most heartbreaking defeat in Arizona Cardinals history. Wilson apparently has a torn Achilles and Green has a tear in his groin. These injuries might put an official end to the Cards season. Along with the two injuries the Cardinals have cut punter Mike Barr. Any of you that have watched this guy punt through out the season know he doesn’t belong in the NFL. Barr’s punting killed the Cardinals in the overtime lost to the 49ers last week and not surprisingly he is no longer with the team. Veteran punters Tom Rouen and Mitch Berger were seen at the Cardinals’ complex working out with the team.
If you watch the Cardinals defense with and without Adrian Wilson it’s night and day. All year the defense has been great, but as soon as Wilson goes out they allow 37 points to the worst offense in the league. You got to believe this team has no chance without Wilson and Green. You can’t have guys like Michael Adams, Ralph Brown and Oliver Celestin on the field and expect to win. The offense would have to score 30+ points a game for the rest of the year in order to help the Cardinals make the playoffs.
Logic tells me that there’s no chance the Cardinals can make the playoffs with season ending injuries to Bertrand Berry, Chike Okeafor, Adrian Wilson, Eric Green, and Matt Leinart. But as long as the record still says Arizona can make the playoffs I’ve got to hope for that miracle, and at this point that’s what it will take, a miracle.
