Dolphins Release Final Cut List

The Miami Dolphins have announced via their email newsletter the final list of players cut from their roster. It now stands at the NFL-compliant 53 players.

There are 3 categories of cuts. As reported here earlier, FB Cory Schlesinger and WR Az-Zahir Hakim had contracts terminated. 4 players; LB Jim Maxwell, LB Robert McCune, WR PK Sam, and G Dan Stevenson, were terminated with injuries.

The following players (listed Alphabetically) were simply released outright;
TE Courtney Anderson
DT Mkristo Bruce
DE Jorge Cordova
FB Kyle Eckel
G Tala Esera
QB Gibran Hamdan
S Tuff Harris
CB Derrick Johnson
G Marquay Love
WR Michael Malone
TE Tim Massquoi
G Stephen Parker
CB Geoff Pope
DT Brian Soi
OT Julius Wilson

Any first or second year player can be signed to the Dolphins’s 8-man practice squad, making them eligible to be brought onto the active roster if needed. Miami also has the freedom to look through the waiver wire and add some players by subtracting others.

Of the Dolphins 53 man roster, 13 are rookies. All 10 draft picks made the team, and tonight there are 3 men who can count their very fortunate, but well earned, stars. WR Kerry Reed, S Courtney Bryan, LB Miles Edmond all made the team after not being drafted, signing as undrafted free agents. The Dolphins signed 16 undrafted FAs, so congratulations to you 3 for making it all the way to the active roster!

Other positive Dolphins news: CB Andre Goodman has been activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list, showing positive progress in his rehab from shoulder surgery in the offseason.
