Scouting Report: Ryan Grice-Mullen, WR, Hawaii

Ryan Grice-Mullen is another of Colt Brennan’s targets. The junior from Hawaii had the privilege of having the ball thrown at him from the gunslinger. He is, just like Bess, an undersized receiver, but he has more speed and football IQ than Bess does. This young man decided to jump into the mix of the draft after his coach left his college. I think this is a huge mistake, because Grice-Mullen’s numbers at Hawaii were inflated due to the pass-only mentality of the offense more so than by the skills the young man possesses. A scout will soon see this at the combine or pro days.

Scouting Report

Pros: Good initial speed off the snap with decent hands.

Cons: Can, and will, be caught from behind in the NFL. Will struggle to separate from corners.

Overall: This young man made a mistake in leaving college early. It might be one that will haunt him for a long time to come.
