Scouting Report: Gary Guyton, LB, Georgia Tech

Gary Guyton is a veteran at his position. The senior from Georgia Tech has played the weak side and the strong side and has played them both well, even if the scouts prefer him at the weak side. He might not be the best sample of what a linebacker should look like, but scouts think he has the talent to play the position. His strongest ability is the speed he has blitzing, but he has to stay in his lane. He has the feel for the ball, but needs to stay focused all the time.

Scouting Report

Pros: He has that famous word, potential, at two positions—even if he should be a weak side ‘backer in the NFL.

Cons: He is raw in some areas and is missing the instincts that some teams want for their linebackers.

Overall: I think that he will make a team, mostly because he has the possibility of working on both sides of the defense.
