MVN writers mock draft: 6. New York Jets - RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas
NFL
By Joe Caporoso
The Jets have improved their offensive and defensive lines this offseason, and also added some muscle to help their running game by signing fullback Tony Richardson and tight end Bubba Franks. Yet, they still a lack a major playmaker on the offensive side of the ball. Darren McFadden solves that problem. McFadden would provide the home run ability and top level speed that the Jets need to contend for a playoff spot in the AFC. Thomas Jones and Leon Washington are both solid players but McFadden would bring a different dimension to the Jets offense, and take even more pressure off Kellen Clemens. You could make a strong argument that McFadden is the best player in this draft. The Jets are getting excellent value by taking him at number six.
