Sunday Preview
Well Eagles fans here we are. The homestretch of the 2007 regular season is here and the Eagles sit just one game out of the playoff picture at 5-6. Ironically last years squad was also 5-6 before running the table. Running the table would definitely get the Birds in and 4-1 I think gets them in the mix. Anything else and we’ll be sitting around the post season imagining what could of been.
Quick preview for tomorrow. . .
Seattle@Philadelphia
On the surface with Shaun Alexander returning and another week of AJ Feeley it would seem the Birds are in trouble this week. This should be a tough test but I really like the Birds in this one. Philadelphia seems to play its best with its backs against the wall and should be pretty confident in their ability to play with anyone in the league following the New England game. Andy Reid needs to get the ball early and often in the hands of Brian Westbrook and let him make plays. Seattle ranks 14th in both Passing and Rushing defense so as the numbers say, it’s an average defense. I look for the Eagles defense to contain the 22nd ranked run offense and the secondary will bend but not break as usual. How will the Eagles defense approach Seattle? Will they sit back as they have most of the year or be aggressive as they were against New England? Also weather could be a factor in the ballgame. A storm front is moving into the area and Philly could see a little snow or even mixed precipitation. Could make for an interesting game and turnovers could be a plenty.
Pick: Philadelphia 23 Seattle 17
I may do a live blog of the game tomorrow giving running thoughts and updates if I can. . .
