TKO’d

Eagles weakside linebacker Takeo Spikes suffered a torn rotator cuff Sunday against the Cowboys. It has not yet been determined whether the injury will sideline Spikes for a long time, if at all.

TKO has had a solid year after coming over from the Buffalo Bills this past off-season and is second on the team with 86 tackles. Spikes missed 13 games in 2005 with a torn Achilles tendon, and four games the following year with a strained hamstring, but his health has not been an issue at all this season.

On a side note, Brian Westbrook said after the game Sunday that his decision to take a knee at the 1-yard line and forego a touchdown was a result of advice given to him by right tackle Jon Runyan. Regardless of who made the decision, it was a very heady play that solidified an Eagles win yesterday. Those who argue the point of such a move need look no further than Week 5, when the Cowboys scored 9 points in the final 20 seconds to stun the Bills.

congrats on the big win to Eagles and all Eagle fans, sorry about the injury to Takeo….what an inspiring game to watch. Wacko Jacko predicted the Win, so kudos to him, too.
