In a standard scoring league my choices at QB are Favre vs Wash or Warner vs Car? At RB I need to choose two from Alexander vs NO, Jacobs @ ATL or Portis @ GB. Thanks guys!

I have Peyton Manning in week six, My other QB is Quinn,Brady that is. I picked up Brian Griese for my bye week, Do you think this is an alright move?

Don’t know what your other options are for a bye week QB but I would have to say that Griese vs MINN is not a bad play for this week. 6 teams on bye including a couple of teams that supply a lot of fantasy stats should mean a tough week for the guy you are playing against also.

    Willie,

Thanks for posting on the website. When you get a chance head over to the Bruno Boys Forum at http://www.brunoboysforum.com Now on to the question.

As much as I want to tell you to take the gamble on Warner in Week 6, I can’t go against Favre. He has been solid all season long, and outside of two throws he has made great decision this year. Warner has been good, but I think Favre will get you the for sure points. Take the safe pick and roll with Favre, plus you have got to play the hot hand and the guy who has led you thru 5 weeks.

Your running back decision is a tough one, and a good problem to have. Out of the 3, my first choice would be Brandon Jacobs. He looked poised, determined and was running with a vengance last week against the Jets. This week, he takes on a Falcons team that is allowing over 120 rushing yards per game on Monday Night Football. I wouldnt be surprised if he has a career game in this one.

In a close call, my second choice would be Shaun Alexander against the Saints. Alexander has been very average thru 5 weeks, but he should be able to find running room easy to come by against a Saints defense that has allowed 4 rushing TD’s in 4 games. Look for Alexander to have his first 100+ yard game and a TD in the same game for the first time all season.

The reason why I don’t like Portis, is because the Packers defense has allowed 1 rushing touchdown all year, and they have been doing a good job of limiting #1 running backs. They held Cedric Benson to less than 3 yards a carry in week 5.

Hope this helps, and I look forward to hearing from you throughout the season. Remember to sign up for the message board.

    Clark,

First things first, welcome to the Bruno Boys fantasy football website. Also, when you get a chance, head over to http://www.brunoboysforum.com and sign up for our interactive message board. Now to answer your week 6 questions.

Out of the bunch, you should start the following wide receivers:

Chad Johnson - No brainer, nice matchup against Kansas City and he should never be benched!

Kevin Curtis - The Jets are giving up 239.6 passing yards per game and have allowed 9 passing touchdowns. Andy Reid led Eagles destroy teams off of bye weeks, and the Eagles will light up the scoreboard. He is a good week 6 play.

As for the 3rd wide receiver, it really depends on if you are in a PPR league or not. If you are go with Mason. He leads the league with 44 receptions and is Steve McNair’s primary dump off target. If you are not in a ppr league, I would take the gamble on Greg Jennings. As teams start doubling and tripling Donald Driver, Jennings creates mismatches in single coverage. This is evident by his three touchdowns in three weeks. However, track his injury status, because he has been limited in practice.

Hope this helps and best of luck in week 6. I look forward to hearing from you throughout the season.

    Big M,

First things first, welcome to the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football website. When you get a chance, head over to http://www.brunoboysforum.com and sign up for the interactive message board. Now on to your week 6 lineup questions.

Congrats on owning Peyton Manning. It is stress free knowning you only have to worry about your quarterback and his production one week out of the season. As for your week 6 bye week plug in, Brian Griese is a decent option. In the Bruno Boys week 6 quarterback rankings, he is ranked 18th this week. Be sure to check them out on the website.

Some of the notables that might be available in your league that project better than Griese are; David Anderson (10th) , David Garrard (11th) , Joey Harrington (12th) and Jason Campbell (15th) . I firmly believe that all of these guys will outperform Griese.

yes, Griese has a nice matchup against a Vikings secondary that has allowed 266 passing yards per contest and 5 passing TD’s, but the Bears rely too much on their tight end play. They have below average wide receivers and the offense is so inconsistent and the Vikings will bring the heat.

Ultimately, go with your gut, but if I own your team, I am targeting a guy like David Garrard or Derek Anderson.

Please keep us posted with what you decide to do or if other questions pop up.

All the best in week 6, and head over to the forum and start posting!

    If I had to start 4 out of the bunch listed above, I would roll with;

Adrian Peterson - The Bears rush defense is good, but not great. They are allowing close to 100 rushing yards per contest and have given up 4 rushing TD’s. I think Peterson will find rushing room and get you around 13-15 total fantasy points.

Bobby Engram - WIth Deion Branch out of action for the next two weeks, Engram will be the primary target in Seattle. The Saints defense has given up 8 passing touchdowns and Engram is a red zone threat. We have him slated at 80 yards and TD in week 6.

Marques Colston - He has 22 catches in 4 games and nothinig to show for it. He is a better play if you are in a PPR league, but I think if Brees is forunate enough to beat a Seahawks defense that plays tough at home, Colston will be the beneficcary. With Wes Welker being nothing more than a possesion receiver and Greg Jennings being banged up, Colston needs to be in your lineup.

Greg Jennings/Donte’ Stallworth - If Jennings is a go on Sunday, roll with him, but he he doesnt suit up go with Stallworth. Jennings has had 3 good games to Stallworth’s 1 good game, so I always take the more consistent player when you are talking about even skills.

Hopt this helps and best of luck in week 6. Please head over to the message board and start chatting!

First things first, welcome to the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football website. We hope you enjoy what we have to offer and when you get a chance, head over to http://www.brunoboysforum.com and sign up for our interactive message board. Now onto your week 6 lineup question.

    I am unaware of who some of the tight end’s available in week 6 are, but using judgement based on most leagues, I would think the following guys would be available;

    Bo Scaife
    Desmond Clark
L.J. Smith (might be b/c he has been hurt)
    Eric Johnson
    Visanthe Shiancoe
    Donald Lee
    Jeff King

I strongly suggest you check out our week 6 tight end rankings by clicking here: http://mvn.com/nfl-fantasy/200.....ight-ends/ …. it gives you an in depth breakdown of each player.

Personally, if Scaife is there, I woul grabe him.. .I like his TD chances. But if you are trying to get a few points and want more of a possesion tight end, target L.J. Smith, Donald Lee or Eric Johnson. They all should get 5 or 6 passes thrown to them.

Ultimately, I’d go with Scaife or take the gamble on L.J. Smith (check his status sunday morning). If both are gone, Donald Lee has been consistent this year.

Hope this helps and keep on coming back,

This is a tough call at the quarterback position. Ultimately, go with your gut but to enlighten you with my thoughts on this.

If you want the safe points, go with Garrard. He has consistently done the job in Jacksonville and hasn’t had a game this year without a TD pass. He has scored between 12-17 points in all 4 games and has yet to throw a touchdown. Plus, he has a favorable matchup against a Houston team that he torched for 19 fantasy points in 2006.

If you want to take a gamble and go with the guy who can get you either 5 fantasy points or 20+ fantasy points, go with Vince Young. Young hasn’t had a game over 14 fantasy points this year, and has had two games in which he has scored less than 10 points. However, Young’s foot speed could be trouble for Tampa Bay and there degressing rush defense.

The Bruno boys have Young projected to score 20 points to Garrard’s 18 points, but if you aren’t a gamble go with Garrard.

Also, you need to factor in your record, if you are in a position to gamble, go with Young.

Personally, if I own your team… I am going with Vince Young.. I love to take risks!

I’m in a 18 team league and had team that was the result of an automated draft. As a result the only starting QB I had was Cutler. With changes I was able to pick up Trent Edwards as backup but his bye week is the same as Cutler. Cleo Lemon of Miami is available, but I would have to drop Leftwich. No one trades so that looks like the only real option. What are your thoughts? Leftwich might play. Lemon probably will. Neither might give any points. Seneca Wallace is also a possibility. Although he might get no points as QB, I might be able to slot him as QB for incidental points.

As for the QB situation, drop Edwards and pick up Cleo Lemon. He is starting in Miami, and has a nice matchup against Cleveland. He might not get you loads of fantasy points, but anything is better than a goose egg at your quarterback position.

Edwards has been decent this year, but the Bills never throw the football downfield, and Edwards will be on a short leash. With JP Losman getting healthy, and guys like Lee Evans wanting Losman under helm, Losman will be back before you know it.

I would make the move, run with Cutler and Lemon for the time being, and once Lemon loses his job to rookie John Beck, pick up Beck.

Best of luck in week 6,

Go with Sammy Morris (although Maroney is now going to play according to espn.com) , he will still get the goaline touches and have a fairly good afternoon. Also, go with LenDale White, I like his chances for 6-8 fantasy points this week, and wouldnt be surprised if he punches in a short touchdown against tampa bay. Fred Taylor is a game time decision, so avoid him, and Brandon Jackson is suiting up for Green Bay, so stay away from Wynn.

At WR, I’d take the gamble on Santana Moss. He has more upside than Crayton, and with Randle-El more than likely missing the game, look for Campbell to target Moss often. I like Crayton, but I find it tough to believe he repeats his past two games against a stout Patriots defense.

Hope this helps and best of luck in Week 6,

Roll with Derrick Mason as your WR3 over Vincent Jackson, solely because of it being a PPR league. Mason has 44 catches through 5 games and is almost a lock for 7 catches and 70 receiving yards each week.

As for your Flex play, if I own your squad I am taking a gamble on Joey Harrington. I never thought I would say it, but assuming it is a standard scoring league and QB’s get yardage pts + 4 pts for TD’s, I think Harrington could net you about 16 fantasy points.

If you are optimistic about playing a jekyl and hyde QB, my 2nd choice at the flex would be Vincent Jackson. The reason why I stay away from Earnest Graham is because the Titans are stout against the rush, and I think graham is TD or bust in week 6.

Also, Vince Young might not have a great week, but with options like Culpepper and Harrington to choose from, you need to run with Young.

As for your week 6 quarterback, you might as well flip a coin and choose the guys. It’s THAT CLOSE!

Personally, if I own your team, I am going to with Matt Hasselbeck. Yes, we at the Bruno Boys have Eli Manning ranked higher and getting 2 more points, but alot of that has to do with potential. When choosing between two equal quarterback options, always take the safe pick, and aganst a Saints defense that allows 18.3 points per game to the QB and 2 TD’s per game, Hasselbeck is the safe pick.

As for your defense, I would go with Minnesota. It’s so close though, another one of those of flip a coing scenario’s. Head over to the Bruno Boys Week 6 Team Defense rankings. We have the Vikings at #1 and the Chargers at #2.

Now onto the question, as much as I want to say to roll with McNabb, it’s tough to bench Romo, even against the Patriots. McNabb has had only 1 good game in 4 trys, and yes he has a great matchup against the Jets, but does that warrant benching Romo for him?

Bottom Line, go with your gut in this one, we have McNabb projected to have about 3 points more than Romo, but based on the past 5 weeks, Romo’s points are more of a sure bet than McNabb’s. I know in week 6, I am starting McNabb, but I don’t have to choose between him and Romo. :-)

Go with your gut, and I bet your gut is riding the guy that has more than likely helped your team win some fantasy games from week 1-5.

Not sure if there is anyone superior to Betts or Taylor on the waiver wire, but I would go with Taylor over Betts.

Bottom Line, Betts has been a huge bust this year and is average only 2.7 yards per carry. The Redskins have been using Portis more and more and fazing out Betts. Both of your players are marginal starters for your squad, but Taylor should have more chances.

Originally I was going to start the first guys at RB but with how poorly Miami’s run defense plays I am doubting this now. Any suggestions here? Also debating over whether to start G.Jennings or D. Mason. I will be starting D.Bowe at the other WR spot. Any suggestions here. On another note I have B. Rothensburger and M. Schaub. I have the opportunity to pick D. Brees but I would have to cut one of these two, is the risk worth the reward? Thanks

    69 Stang,

Thanks for posting on the website. When you get a chance head over to the Bruno Boys Forum at http://www.brunoboysforum.com Now on to the question.

Don’t bench Portis or Bush in favor of Wright. Yes, he has a great matchup, but he could get stuffed and you will be kicking yourself for benching Portis or Bush. Plus, with it raining in Green Bay, that game could be run heavy which will favor Portis.

If you are in a PPR league Mason is just about a must start every week. In fact, this week PPR or not, I think he is the better play. The weather is looking bad in Green Bay, and Mason is always a lock for 65-75 receiving yards and he could surprise and get you a TD this week.

Picking up Drew Brees has some big upside and could be a huge reward, BUT with Big Ben being uber consistent this year and Matt Schaub turning the corner and showing people he can get the job done, you really don’t have room for him on your roster. I would only do it if you could keep both QB’s and then see how Brees pans out before dropping a QB for another position.

Best of Luck in week 6,
