Things are getting trickier and trickier as we approach the end of the regular season and the championship weeks in fantasy football leagues across the world. Back-ups are being given the opportunity to audition for jobs next year, starters are being rested for the playoffs and some players are just plain old cashing it in. But never fear.

For those of you still in the hunt, the Bruno Boys am going to wade through the uncertainty to find whatever value there is to be had. Lets get started with the week 16 editon of Work the Wire, the Waiver Wire.
———————————————————
QUARTERBACKS

QB Sage Rosenfels (Houston Texans) — Rosenfels has played well this season in relief of Matt Schaub. Rosenfels has collected 12 touchdowns against just eight interceptions. The career backup has four touchdowns and two interceptions in his last two weeks but does have to take on the leagues best passing defense, in the Indianapolis Colts this week.

Rosenfels plays at Indianapolis, one of the loudest and hardest places to play as a quarterback. Still, if you’re desperate, Rosenfels is not a bad option. He’s played well the last three games, all of which were against above average defenses.

QB Shaun Hill QB (San Francisco 49ers) - Wow, he looked pretty decent. Granted it was against the Bengals but he could offer some value as a QB2 down the stretch. He also raises the value of those around him. Notice how Frank Gore went for 138 rushing yards? Tough match-up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week ,but he could have some nice value against the Cleveland Browns in week 17.
———————————————————
RUNNING BACKS

RB Aaron Stecker (New Orleans Saints) — Stecker is the starter by default now that both Reggie Bush and Duece McAllister are out for the season. Though he’s averaging less than four yards a carry on the season, he has 195 yards and two touchdowns in his last two games.

The Saints are home this week against an Eagles team that is coming off an emotional win over Dallas. The blitz-happy schemes run by Philadelphia is vulnerable against the run, so Stecker would make sense in deep leagues or in in a flex position.

RB Ron Dayne (Houston Texans) — Could it be a resurgence for the Great Dayne? So far, Dayne has rushed for 685 yards and averaged four yards a carry for the season and has added four touchdowns. Dayne also has been used in the passing game, catching 17 passes for 117 yards.

While Dayne might not be the player you were hoping to insert in your lineup, he gets carries and receptions and is very capable of punching it in the endzone. There are worse options out there, and with the Colts missing every regular on their defensive line, Dayne should have some running room in week 16.

RB Laurence Maroney (New England Patriots) - Is it possible that some owner gave up on him? Sure is. Look for him just in case. This week 16 for 104 and a TD. It is clear that the Pats are going to use him more now that the weather is getting trickier. They are at home again next week against Miami and then play the Giants. Both are teams that Maroney should be able to run succesfully on, if given a good quanity of touches.

RB Lorenzo Booker (Miami Dolphins) - This is pretty much only a mention for deep, points per catch leagues. Three week in a row he has had exactly 6 receptions. Combined that with yards and you could have 10+ points as a RB3. But the question arises, do you want to rely on a backup running back in a bad offense, who only gets points by catching footballs out of the backfield?
———————————————————
WIDE RECEIVERS

WR Bobby Engram (Seattle Seahawks) — The sure-handed Engram has flown under the radar this season but he is having a career year. He’s got 85 catches, over 1,000 yards and five touchdowns. He’s also caught four or more passes in all but two games so he’s incredibly consistent, and that’s what we like.

It couldn’t be a better week to play Engram as the Seahawks play host to the Baltimore Ravens, who are terrible. When it comes to inclement weather, Hasselbeck tends to go to Engram even more so he’s a great play this week.

Roydell Williams (Tennessee Titans) — And it looks like a go-to guy for Vince Young may finally be emerging (how many times have we said that this year). Williams has been up and down this season, but two of his best three games have come in the last two weeks. In those games, Williams caught nine passes for 168 yards and three touchdowns.

This week the Titans play the Jets, which is a good matchup for Williams and the Titans. Williams should be able to get open so the onus will be on Young to properly read and react to the 3-4 defense of New York.

WR Darrell Jackson (San Francisco 49ers) - He had 8 catches for 86 yards. So he is still playing. Again, tough match-up this weekend against the Tampa Bay defense, but with Cleveland in the finale, who could be a week 17 fill-in.
———————————————————
TIGHT ENDS

TE Tony Scheffler (Denver Broncos) - Scheffler had a huge game last Thursday with 7 catches for 100 receiving yards and a TD. He could be a starter in a pinch as he has been a steady for the past few months, but make sure to check out quarterback Jay Cutler’s status for week 16.
———————————————————
KICKERS

K Matt Bryant (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) — Bryant is only connecting on 82 percent of his field goals so far this season, but he has only missed one in his last five games. In the win over the Falcons, Bryant was a perfect 3-of-3 on field goals and 4-of-4 on extra points.

Tampa Bay plays another weak defense this week in the 49ers so Bryant will be busy again kicking away. He’ll like get you 12 or more points which is good production out of the kicker position.
———————————————————
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES (not worthy to pick up, but keep an eye on these guys)

RB Darren Sproles (San Diego Chargers) - Check out what the little man did to the Lions; 25 carries for 122 rushing yards and 2 TD’s. Damn! There can’t be much pride floating around that Lions locker room after the third string running back roles up numbers like that.

WR Greg Camarillo (Miami Dolphins) - 3 receptions for 109 receiving yards and the game winning TD. Who? We know over 60 of those yards came on his game wining overtime touchdown, but he wanted to give Camarillo some love.
———————————————————
