Season Opener
As many of you have heard by now, I am sure, The Giants open the 2008 season at home on Thursday, September 4th against the hated divisional rival Washington Redskins.Â
This, of course, means take Friday September 5th off from work.Â
The game is currently scheduled for an 830pm start, however it will probably be moved to 7pm, because this is the same night as the Republican National Convention (yawn). The rest of the week one highlight games will be announced Monday at NFL meetings in Palm Beach, Florida and the full schedule comes out next month. Â
This has to get you pumped if you are a Giants fan. The hated Redskins at home on a Thursday night as we attempt to defend the Lombardi Trophy and repeat as Super Bowl Champions. The stadium will be electric that night, and I can’t wait!!!

I was looking at the schedules posted on nfl.com, and even though the dates for the games aren’t yet out, the opponents are. The Giants are facing (outside of division) san fran, seattle, baltimore, cincy, and carolina away (do I sense another 7-win road regular season?) and arizona, st. louis, cleveland, pittsburgh, and minnesota at home. Without looking too far ahead, you have to figure that that kind of schedule gives the Giants a fair chance at winning 11/12/13 games, no?
