Thoughts from the Dark Side
Week 9 Preview: Houston Texans (3-5) @ Oakland Raiders (2-5)
The Houston Texans travel to the “Black Hole” to face the Oakland Raiders resembling a MASH unit with their starting QB, WR, and RB all injured. The Raiders reeling from three straight losses will be looking to rebound against the Titans. Jerry MacDonald of the Oakland Tribune reports that opening day starter Josh McCown will be returning to the fold for Oakland.
The Raiders run defense has improved over the last couple of games, and will have to contain Adimchinobe Echemandu who was a standout in Raider camp, but saw very little before being cut to make room for Dominic Rhodes.
On offense, the Raiders will have to establish their running game that has failed them in the last few games. It is that running game that will open up the passing lanes for Josh McCown.
This is a winnable game for the Raiders, but they have to overcome history. The Houston Texans are the only team in the NFL that the Raiders have yet to log a victory against.
