NFL Network gets one ranking right
Here at TFDS, we've gone round and round about the slights given to the Raiders.  Many in Raider Nation have done the same amongst themselves and probably with others external to the Nation.  We here at TFDS will be creating a new page for Raiders videos.  It's not up yet, but it will be.  We've already added a new section in our 2008 Draft Coverage called Draft Coverage by NFL Network.  Stop on in and check it out.
The NFL Network likes to have rankings of various things.  The biggest has been the America's Game series where the Raiders were completely underestimated by the Raider Hating panel.  We finally found a category where NFL Network has ranked the Raiders #1.  We couldn't fit the video on this post, so you'll have to follow this link on another page.  Enjoy!

Love it! Fuckin LOVE it! A true reminder of why I am a Raider fan. I do things my own way and take my own path and ask no one's permission to do so. What makes Al a pariah is what makes him great.

Favorite part of the video.....The Close line from Hades
Lynn Swan: "The blow was illegal delivered with what I would, what seems to be some type of malice.
George Atkinson: "Come on he was a cry baby, his life was never in danger, the guy is soft. Lynn Swan....SOFT!"
Hilarious!!

In the early 80's my father taught me the the raider way, decribing it as a tough as nails, unrelenting and dominating mentality. Play hard, work harder and do whatever it takes to win. How can you not love that??? Honestly, Maybe this is indicitive of the stereotypical classless raider fan, but I like seeing one of our players take a cheap shot every now and then. Especially if it's in the name of intimidation. We are the bad guys, the villans. Madden said it best when he stated that the NFL is a better league when the Raiders are good.

not only that but, the haters come in full force. just look at the comments made by haters in recent blogs, they're coming out of the wood work. so we must be getting better and scaring some people.

Remember seeing that one.
The Raiders had a few other places in the top ten, Like QB-WR combos, with Biletnikoff and Stabler, or on the worst Super Bowl Moment, when Squirek intercepted Theismann right before halftime....they weren't number ones...but they were worth a watch.

Nice, very nice! I remember Al v. Pete and I loved seeing Pete Rozell have to come to the locker room and give Al the Vince Lambardi Trophy over and over again. He must have hated every minute of that. It is the Raiders against the rest of the world and it does make the league better.

Thats right Raider fans, keep living in the past. It only makes the present that much more enjoyable when the Raiders get their butts kicked week in and week out. But that is ok though, you guys ruled the roost when disco was all the rage. Here is hoping Al lives to be 120!!! lol

Always nice to see "The Filth Whoresman" comment. Nice to know he is still intimidated by the Raider fan support that his sorry escuse for a franchise could never have.

Filth Whoresman is just burnt that Raider fans have a past to celebrate unlike his team. And he is also well aware that we have been celebrating the PRESENT direction this team is going and the FUTURE is has laid before it. With a defense loaded with potential Pro Bowlers and a young offense that will only get better with every game. He knows this to be true which is why he peeks his pipsqueak head in here every few days to make a little weezy comment and scurries away. Keep it up kid. It only proves you still respect and fear the Raiders and their fans. We got you right where we want you.

Mike49er: LMAO..geez..is there ANYTHING MORE PATHETIC than fans that live vicariously through a team? Why do I just know most of you have NEVER played ball?
You sound like a little infatuated wannabee child.
When you grow up you'll realize how sad you sound.
Let's keep our fingers crossed it will happen in the next few years.
------
JRasmussen: "Maybe this is indicitive of the stereotypical classless raider fan, but I like seeing one of our players take a cheap shot every now and then."
Mike49er: No MAYBE about it. Classless pretty much describes cheap shots. See, any loser can apply a cheapshot. Takes no pride, takes NO GUTS, takes NO ABILITY to apply a cheap shot. Means you're beaten, means you can't beat the man straight up..hell..that's why the little bitches on the corner throw sucker punches. They know it's the only shot they have.
Again, LMAO at little wannabees who take pride that something as cowardly as a cheap shot happened.

Damn dude..you honestly are the poster child for 'DUH".
Read it slowly...YOU'RE THE WORST TEAM IN THE NFL THE LAST 5 YEARS..how the hell do you figure anyone..I mean ANYONE who's laughing at you is scared? OF WHAT?? You have a starting qb who SUCKED on the field last year. The guy totally looked like crap..and he has NO BACKUP who doesn't suck.
You have no idea if Russell will even pan out..as well, you have a yet again revamped O line, with Turnstyle Harris as your blindside tackle. Do you not have ANY idea how bad Harris is against the passrush? The guy gets beat like a drum, which means Russell will as well.
Your defense makes offenses salivate..almost knowing they'll have a career day against that sorry weak D that did nothing to improve..actually got worse on the D line.
Hell, been laughing at you guys for YEARS. And yes, little drips like you have been saying FOR YEARS that "They're afraid of us this year..we have Moss".."We have Shell" "whoooo hooooo...we have Aaron Brooks..all those haters actually fear us"
No, twaddle, we're laughing because it's funny.
As you are.

LDizzle: "Filth Whoresman is just burnt that Raider fans have a past to celebrate unlike his team.
Mike49er: ARE YOU NOT AWARE THAT THE VIDEO YOU JUST LOOKED AT IS MOSTLY FROM THE 70'S?? HELLO???? Anybody home?
Hell, Al had hair..Rozelle was still alive..that's ANCIENT..and that's what you're crowing about?
Dude..you couldn't be any weaker if you were jello.
And he is also well aware that we have been celebrating the PRESENT direction this team is going and the FUTURE is has laid before it. With a defense loaded with potential Pro Bowlers and a young offense that will only get better with every game. "
Mike49er: LMAO..Celebrating the present? Uh..what present? You suck. You have sucked for 5 years. What present? OH..that's right..it's offseason..where Raider fan believes looking at ancient videos can be moved up to the new century.
As far as direction with the offense? Again, with that O line, and your qb who looked horribly confused last year, you best make claims now, because in a few months you'll mysteriously disappear..all of a sudden finding "chores to do".
Notice how nothing in there applied to anything in the last 20 YEARS????
Again, funny stuff. Thanks for the laughs.

Mike thanks once again for stopping by. How's Alex Smith working out for your guys? Russell is unproven, but he has been at the Raiders facility working so he can succeed. Smith has had 3 years is it?

What you mean, Patrick, is after Russell's showing last year, AND the fact the Raiders canned both your starting qb's, leaving you with..uh....well, no one with any experience on your staff, Russell has no choice but to succeed.
Well...even that's not true, is it? Not really his choice, now, is it? So, my question to you is, are YOU not the least bit apprehensive, knowing that you basically put all of your eggs in one basket? What happens if Russell falters? Gets an injury?
Walter?
Yeah, that's a cold harsh reality that Walter, he that Raider fans were all but ready to burn in effigy, if not at the stake, could very easily be your starting qb.
As far as Smith? Well, he is up and down, I will say that. However, before his injury last year, he had won 3 of his 4 previous games, only loss being against a very strong Steeler team.
He kicked the Bronco's ass..then the Rams and the Cards before losing to the Steelers.
So, do I wish for more consistency? Of course.
With Russell?
Aren't you just kind of wishing that he's not a total bust at this point?

Dude Mike49er brownouser wasn't Smith drafted 1st overall becuase.....? yes 49er fan the worst record. Russell showed he has more of everything than smith. Even Walter is better than your #1 bust. Your team is toast this year when they come to Oakland. You may not want to see it but it will happen. LoL

Mike69er (and I'm talkin' dude on dude),
You sure are a funny guy. A 49er fan coming on here talking the way you do.... you'd think your team was great, or even good.
Very hypocritical of you. The truth is your team is practically in the same boat as the Raiders (You probably hate to admit that, but it's true): You're rebuilding, you haven't had a winning season in 5 years, and you're hoping your team is on the upswing. Why come here to hate on a struggling team when your own team is struggling in nearly the same manner.
Smith is inconsistent??? That's really the concept you're using? A better concept is disaster. Equally as disastrous as our Robert Gallery. Dude, your #1 overall pick is currently a back-up on your team.
That's right, after three years he still has not locked down the starting position.
Smith threw one touchdown in his ENTIRE FIRST SEASON!!! He might get better, but as of 3+ years into his pro career, as a former #1 overall, he is NOT what the 49ers envisioned when they drafted him.
Can you refute that? Will you actually try to tell me that he's exactly what the team wanted? Losing record, far more INTs than TDs, 9 games misssed due to injury, feuding with the head coach. Do you really think the 49ers would draft him again if the could do it over?
Actually, John York probably would draft him again.
JaMarcus threw a touchdown in his first start....but you're right about one thing...JaMarcus has a lot to prove, he hasn't done anything in the league yet...but he also hasn't had a chance (unlike Smith who has started probably two years worth of games). It's way too early to judge JaMarcus. So no, we're not worried that he's a bust, but if I were a 9er fan I certainly be worried that Smith is a bust.
I don't hate the Niners, I actually root for them sometimes (thanks for that victory against Denver knocking them out of the playoff hunt in 06 that you allude to) and i hope Smith turns out OK, but it's not looking great at this point. Sorry buddy.

Fresh: Mike69er (and I’m talkin’ dude on dude),
Mike49er: And I'm talking idiot juvenile middle school at best.
Be honest.
Did you giggle when you posted that? Little high pitched squeal?
Don't waste my time with that weak crap.

Mike49er: What you mean to say is you believe you should only post comments about another team if, and only if you're team is what? Better?
You actually believe growing a spine and commenting is linked to wins and losses? Aren't you glad that's not the case? No Raider would be posting, anywhere.
Kind of dodged a bullet there, didn't you?

Mike49er: Hate??? HATE??? I'm trying to help you out, guide you along, show some of you the error of your ways, so you can have a better tomorrow.
Hate??? Au contraire'.. It's kind of like helping out that damn kid down the street who keeps running his bike into all the parked cars. Sometimes a slap on the back of the head does wonders.

That’s right, after three years he still has not locked down the starting position.
Mike49er: Backup? what?? You would be wrong. He's been the starter every game he's been healthy. As well, to Nolan's discredit, Smith's also been the starter even when he couldn't lift up his arm.
If what you mean is "The best qb on the team after training camp is the starter" then yeah, of course. Is that supposed to be a revelation?
-------
Smith threw one touchdown in his ENTIRE FIRST SEASON!!! He might get better, but as of 3+ years into his pro career, as a former #1 overall, he is NOT what the 49ers envisioned when they drafted him.
Mike49er: I appreciate your effort. No, I really do. :) Except Smith didn't play an ENTIRE FIRST SEASON. During that season that we had 11 different starting O lines, because of injuries, where the season was already shot, Nolan put in Smith in the middle of the season.
What a concept, huh? You ever wonder why Lame Kiffin waited until game 16, in a season that was over in Oct, to put Russell out there? Where he basically stunk up the place..I mean, we're talking rancid in it's worst form, and now? You can the other two starters, and basically have Walter, of all people backing up someone who should have been in on at least a half dozen games???
And please, do NOT run that sorry 'Well, he missed training camp, so he was behind. Training camp is 4 weeks. SEVENTEEN WEEKS INTO THE SEASON Kiffin had to dumb down the plays because they STILL were too much for Russell to grasp. Bad moves all the way around..and yeah, leave it to Al to not only NOT have a deal done before he picked Russell, but argued over the dumbest crap, resulting in Russell missing all of training camp.
lol...only the Raiders.

Mike49er: Of course he's not exactly what the team wanted. Has he performed at a high level for a number of games? hell yeah..has he done it every game? hell no. Did he struggle in his rookie year, behind a complete weekly make shift O line? hell yeah. Did he win us three games in a row while looking really good? Hell yeah. Was Smith the obvious choice for our #1 pick? HELL YES. See, we're talking about picking who you're supposed to pick..NOT picking like the Raiders pick. See, you needed DEFENSIVE LINE HELP..and your idiot owner picked another RB.
Yes, dumb move.
Head up ass, what were you thinking, check your hearing aid, moronic choice, when you could have had Dorsey.
Of course, speaking of dumb moronic picks, your idiot owner passed on Cutler and Leinart, to pick Huff..a bust..who was also your 5th dback in 6 drafts that was taken in THE FIRST ROUND.
Care to justify that idiot move?
