Raiders Walker released from hospital

Will Javon Walker’s injuries allow him to play in 2008?

Javon Walker was released from the hospital Wednesday following injuries that he received early Monday morning off of the Las Vegas strip. Las Vegas PD has said that he’s hospitalized, so it may be that he’s in another hospital outside of Las Vegas while he recovers from a concussion and an orbital fracture sustained in the mugging.

Walker’s agent, Kennard McGuire, released a statement earlier today saying:

“Javon Walker wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and support. He is quickly recovering in a private environment. During this time, we will allow the proper authorities to do their due-dilligence and investigate this senseless act against Mr. Walker. Javon looks forward to getting back to his family and teammates and is looking forward to the start of the upcoming season.“

Reports are still rolling in, but the ‘how’ and ‘why’ it happened is still very unclear. The police are investigating the incident as a robbery, but reports have varied as to what actually happened.

The original story was that Walker had been partying at the club Body English and on his way back to his hotel, he was beaten, mugged, and left unconscious in an alley walkway behind the strip. Yesterday, two rumors came out and were reported here.

The first rumor, was accusing recently retired Floyd Mayweather of competing with Javon Walker in Body English for most bottles bought on the night. We reported that rumor here at TFDS, but with a caution to readers due to unavailable sources on the story. According to that rumor, Mayweather’s entourage may have had something to do with the crime itself, making it ‘look’ like a robbery.

The second rumor reported here, was a report from the same website that had posted the Matt Leinart ‘Hot Tub‘ photos. In the post on the site ‘The Dirty,’ they state the following:

“Javon Walker is a very close friend of ours so we have been reticent about writing this story. He was the victim of a brutal robbery and assault early Monday morning at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. After hearing the rumored versions of what happened concerning this robbery, we felt it best to set the record straight“

We’re going to reserve the right to question this rumor as well. Here’s a map of the locations involved:

Remember that these streets are farther than they look. The total distance from the hotel that Walker was reported as staying at and the club Body English is 1.7 miles. We are hoping to get more information later today when Lane Kiffin addresses the media after OTA’s in Oakland.

I have a buddy who knocked somebody out for being flashy and they guy he knocked out didn’t have 16 mill in guaranteed money. He might have gotten robbed for who he is let alone after attracting attention to himself in such manner. Either way I hope he and others learn a valuable lesson and I hope he is able to be productive because with a D that’s gonna suprise everybody and a great running game I really see Javon as the key to a playoff push.

Hey, He’s fine He is on his way to team HQ’s and will be a participant in the final day of the week’s OTA’s. They are saying there will be no issue with him missing any time, not even training camp. This is good news apperantly everyone was just throwing rumors around and no one had any real facts.

Good to hear, he was stable enough to move into a private facility. Keep digging guys, and I hate to be callous. Given the current developments, do you think a Koren Robinson signing might come in the next couple days?

I say we sign all of the NFL problem children. One or two of them is bound to not get suspended or beat up right? If we sign Chris Henry he will be able to play in 2009. Until then at least he can be a calming veteran presence in the locker room. Koren Robinson could help by making sure there is ample boose in the hotel rooms to keep players from having to go out to clubs to get it. Odell Thurman could be a cheerleader…wait I am hearing now that it is only the Niners who have male cheerleaders (snicker). Oh well, he can do something. Bring him in.

Man who cares right now what happened fuck it… If he says he’s better and then the doctors take a look at him and he’s fine and ready for OTA’s and camp… We just need to let it go… Hopefully he learned his lesson and he doesnt do this STUPID SHIT again… And i still think that Al would be smart to add some clause to his contract if he doesnt have one already… And hopefully Walker can use this as moivation during the season… Thats someone beat him, robbed him, and left him for dead… The good part to this is that Walker will stay in California probably for a while and he’ll be around to catch passes with the other receivers and build chemistry with JaMarcus… As well as staying in shape…

You don’t go back and ADD to a contract. Both parties are held to the contract unless both parties agree to amend it.

And yeah i agree with Dizzles idea about a depth chart would be awesome… A good addition would be maybe one day a week when everyone who wants to talk Raiders gets online and chat about the games, results, etc… And when training camp starts a daily report on any injuries(hopefully none) and who did what well and who needs improvement on what(if thats not already planned)… But either way this page is awesome…
