Breaking Raider News: Asomugha expected to be signed for training camp

Will Nnamdi be a Raider past this season?

CNN SI is reporting that Nnamdi Asomugha is intending to sign his one year tender, show up to camp and be ready for a great season.  Raider Nation can now breathe a huge sigh of relief, well sort of.  There’s still the business of signing Asomugha long term and if this report is true, it’s another reason as to why the Raiders can’t afford to let him get away.  Since the Raiders have moved back to Oakland, players like him have been more and more rare.

Asomugha has been holding off on signing the tender due to his stance that he wanted assurances from the Raiders that they wouldn’t franchise him next year.  In true Raider fashion, they declined to accept that offer from Asomugha.  With Nnamdi being in camp for the duration, the Raiders secondary now is completely set.  With all of the critical players in camp, they should have plenty of time to find cohesion before the season starts.

According to CNN SI, they report that he text messaged the following to them:

I’m going to go in to camp focused and play the year out and see what happens.

Sounds good to us!

First practice is Thursday at 3pm and the first two a day is Friday.  The Raiders will be practicing like last season where one practice is a morning practice and the other is a night time event.  Lane Kiffin is expected to meet with reporters at noon tomorrow, so keep an eye out sometime after one for a recap of the event.

One last thing, if you read about any rumors of Jim Fassel being the next Raider coach, he’s at the camp at Lane Kiffin’s request and he’s visiting his son who is the Raiders offensive quality control coach.  So discount the rumors.  Speaking of which, we’re still going to hold our breathe until the Raiders announce that Asomugha really is in camp…just in case.

I personally never had a doubt he would play this year. It is the long term deal that I am worried about. And after this last breakdown in negotiations he may be even harder to sign.

Should I tell Dwayne Bowe to make his travel arrangements to Hawaii, now? Because I’m pretty sure that “Nnamdi Asomugha” is Swahili for “D-Bowe’s Prison Bitch” -

thats great news we now have the best secondary in the league no doubt..give them a few games to get the hang of each other and other teams will not be able to pass on us..especially the dickheads from KC

Ian is that all you ever do just come and see if any other Chiefs fans ave commented… Then you agree with them and suck up… Or you just good post, good job, nice post, etc… And darren dickheads is an understatement when it comes to guys like this Ian kid…

Oh! Ryan i don’t know if D-Bowe wants to make reservations yet…. That is unless he wants to watch the Probowl from the stands… lol…

I don’t care if you have Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, and Chad Johnson… With Brodie Croyle playing QB you’ll still suck…

    GO RAIDERS!!!

Not to be too much of a defensive dick but I’m pretty sure in order for Nnamdi ever to become “Bowe’s prison bitch” then that means the Queefs finally acquired a QB who has an arm bigger than a straw in diameter and can actually do more with it than a fag can with a playboy.

Ah - classy Raider Nation. I missed you so much.

Predictable - illiterate - and rife with homophobic and ethnic slurs. Just like old times.

Thank God camp has started and we can get down to some real business.

And yes, Bowe OWNS Asomugha - your theory of “they never throw his way” has little weight with this guy. Trust me - Aso is going to get destroyed this year by #82 for the Chiefs.

(I literally cannot wait to see what kind of comments that I get in response from you guys. I’m giddy.)

i’m surprised that ryan hasn’t said anything about one raider fan bragging about us beating them in narrowhead. he starts his comment with that one, it looks like he’s getting new material.also ryan, if you look at his stats you wil clearly see that aso’s side of the field was hardly even looked at by opposing qb’s. stats don’t lie, even you can’t dispute that, ryan clown brown.

Speaking of getting new material - J-Russ managed to find the spellcheck on his computer - that’s something to be proud of, sir!

I would LOVE to see stats that prove that Aso doesn’t get thrown on more or less than the NFL average - I am sure there are some out there, and they will probably prove me wrong. But until that happens, good luck getting me to shut my big mouth.

Oh, and Kevin - you should see the infestation of Raiders’ fans I get on my page. If you can convince Raider Nation to stop infecting my site, I’ll stop trolling around here. Deal?

    Go Chiefs!
