Raiders News: Jordan told to stay home

It's being reported that the Oakland Raiders have told Lamont Jordan to stay away from training camp.  This is the second straight camp that the Raiders have informed their former starter that his services wouldn't be necessary to the team.  So what do the Raiders do now?  They can either hold on to Jordan hoping for a trade and drop him during the final cuts, or they could cut him now and bring in a player to give them a solid opportunity to make the team.

Speaking of possible free agent signings, (WR) Eric Parker has also been reportedly waived by the Chargers.  This could be a possible signing for the Raiders due to his work with current Raiders coach, James Lofton.  Being that Parker is leaving a division rival coupled by the experience he has under Lofton's tutelidge, it would seem to be a match made in 'The Black Hole.'

As far as Jordan goes, it's probably time to cut and run unless the Raiders have an actual trade partner already.  Jordan's agent, Alvin Keels, would just like to get the matter resolved.  He was quoted as saying:

"I am just hoping for a quick resolution.  I'd like for this thing to be resolved within the next 24 hours."

So would we Alvin, so would we.

We'll keep you updated with the latest breaking stories as we get them.

Al Davis is obviously too retarded or demented or both to realize that it is against league rules to keep a player on your roster from attending training camp. But hey Al , keep holding out and maybe someone will offer you up a first rounder for Lamont. I know the old bag of bones is too paranoid that Lamont will end up in Denver or Kansas City. With the Raiders rush defense , I bet Jordan could put up about 200 yards on the ground going up against that swiss cheese defensive line.

Fifth Horseman is right about not being able to keep a player out of camp (see McNair and the Titans). Jordan will end up in Denver and Al knows it. They just released Mike Bell and won't hesitate to pick him up.

But come on! Release him already and move on. He's not good enough to be on our roster so go get somebody who could potentially help the team.

Our D Line practices against the same zone blocking scheme everyday, and should be able to at least slow it down.

Move on finally.

Man, I'm seriously hoping that Jordan turns out to be a bust when he leaves becuase if this is a repeat of the Randy Moss fiasco, we'll keep getting ridiculed by the rest of the league. But with the zone-blocking system that we have, any running back can succeed, so I doubt Jordan can get better than how he was here. Tomorrow's the first practice, Woohoo!

fifth horses ass.. wow you bash on al davis... wow dude like we all don't? its like making fun of president bush. WE KNOW HES RETARDED YOU STUPID ASS YOUR NOT HURTING ANYONES FEELINGS... seriously dude, your comments on here make you look like a retard... and ooo jordan going to the broncos.. big whoop, the broncos need something, because all they have are backups at the moment, since henry couldn't stay out of trouble. but in any case, lamont averaged 3.8 yards per carry .. he has no power and hardly anything left in the tank as far as speed or agility..

go nnamdi!! u really are a classy guy, i REALLY hope he gets the kind of deal hall got... i think he will when they prove #1 together against the pass. i have a feeling that al will need to franchise tag someone else next year so he will have no choice but to pony up the doe.. maybe he'll kick the bucket too and end all of our misery! haha.

Often making fun of President Bush is uninformed, the alternative is just worse (Kerry, Gore OMG!) and the Congress is the real target of snappy little one-liners so in the case of Al you may want to look at the GM... Doh... Well I tried to help out : ) But seriously Al has made the team better this offseason and he did the right thing keeping Kiffin and picking up many quality assistants so we'll be better! Jordan was a decent back but hurt too much.

Kushman - Ronald Curry was a 7th rounder. Every pick matters, that's why it's important to get one if you can. That being said, nobody's going to give us squat for Jordan knowing that he's on his way out anyway. Here's one more lifelong fan who is looking forward to new leadership. A.D. has had is day in the sun. Now it's time to turn over the reigns so we can get this thing turned around!

J Barr that is not true at all. Teams trade for players so they can have the only negotiating rights. They save money that way. If Jordan is released, he will likely sit at home waiting for a teams get desperate and they will pay him too much to get him.

Al likely has a 7th rounder offered already but he is holding out in the hopes of getting at least a 6th out of somebody. Jordan would also have to agree to a new deal in principle with the team he is traded to to lower his salary because it is a bit higher than teams would want to pay right now.

Wow Raider Blues you are really buying into the shit they are shoveling you over there aren't you? I know how it is. I was in the military. I know how they keep you guys uninformed about what is happening stateside and in the war in general. Bush is at fault. Don't let yourself be brainwashed into believing otherwise. Bush is a cancer and he has surrounded himself with his cancerous cronies. Do you enjoy watching your buddies die in huge mistake of a war in the wrong country? You seem to want to stick up for the asshole who should shoulder the burden for their deaths but doesn't care because he wouldn't know the first thing about combat. And yet you still drink the koolaid.

I agree the Kerry would have been a terrible president. Afterall he was such a jackass that he lost to BUSH! That takes some serious stupidity. But you will convince NO ONE that Gore would not have been a good president. Gore has proven that he should have been president. So you can just save that propaganda for...I don't know...someone with less teeth and no TV?

Sorry to get political everyone but Blues just said something pretty ignorant like "Bush is not at fault" and I am in disbelief that anyone would actually say that right now. I digress.

Ok back to Raiders football...

LDizzle - Gore is, was, and will always be an idiot. Even his own party doesn't want him so don't go on with your BS about him being a good president. That fool still thinks he invented the internet.

That is probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen you write. Your ignorance to lay blame on the president for having the stones that even his daddy didn't have is ridiculous. Read a little history and also gain a little knowledge on the whole Iraq situation before laying blame. Obama prior to getting on a plane to go to Iraq: "We need to pull the troops out in within 16 months" Obama ten minutes after landing in Iraq: "I can see that we need to remain in Iraq until the job is done." Uh-huh.

Oh well, let's get away from the politics. One day, we'll create a political page for this stuff.

I tired to click off here without chiming in, but I just can't. The problem is not Republican or Democratic, but that that there has become a true divide between the populace and the "elected" leadership. Elections have devolved to the point where it all comes down to which soundbites get grossly overplayed.

It is increasingly Orwellian, and that is a scary thought.

Rob,

Patrick is right on the money. And so is LDizzle. You and Raider Blues are obviously simple minded people. Blues, "Making fun of Bush is uniformed?" What planet are you from? He took away the writ of habeas corpus, and in case you didn't realize, the founding fathers stated that if the writ of habeas corpus is ever taken away, then that is grounds for an immediate overthrow of the government. Yet people like you are tricked into giving up your rights because you are scared of "terrorists" Leave the Bush praise out of this blog. You have mentioned politics twice now. So drop it, and everyone else here will drop it. You keep praising Bush, and we will keep refuting your ignorance.

NERAIDER - Go back into my post and tell me where it is that I 'praised' Bush. That's not what I said at all. What I said is to stop laying blame where it doesn't belong. Have you forgotten what the public support was for the war? What about the support to go to war in congress. No NE, it seems that anyone that doesn't jump on your bandwagon of blame is ignorant. You're right about one thing, Patrick IS right, but Patrick isn't blaming Bush either.

Let me also add that on the writ of habeus being taken away. Can you tell me the other times in U.S. history that it's been suspended. Another thing, look up AEDPA and maybe you'll begin to see my point...maybe. The point being that from Gore losing, to 9/11, to Tailand, to Katrina, boneheads have found a way to twist the incident into Bush's fault. I'm not a Bush apologist, in fact I think he sucks too, but I'm sick of the ignorance on any of this crap. There were 700 lawmakers besides Bush that voted for the U.S. to go to war. 700!! Many of the same 700 that suspended habeus corpus and haven't un-suspended it. We don't live in a dictatorship dude.

Rob Calonge....you beat me to the punch!! When I saw LDizzle's response that we are uninformed I had to respond to an approach to discussions that is all too common these days. Anytime an argument starts that I know something that the rest of you don't implies that somehow we are all stoopid and he somehow has the inside scoop that we don't get or understand. Your rebuttal was well thought out and spot on. I am not here to defend George Bush but instead make the people responsible for the war to take their rightful ownership. Patrick hit on it as well, there is the great divide amongst people and this has translated in to people taking a side that Bush has done everything from shooting JR, to killing OJ’s wife and probably the guy who shot JFK. America did not go to war without Congress’ approval, how all of a sudden can we make the leap of faith that this is Bush’s war? The Congress gave authority and I have seen snippets of video from Bill Clinton’s presidency to Kerry, Hillary Clinton, etc all saying that Saddam had chemical/biological weapons, etc. I watched George Tenet say a year or so ago that all the information we had said Saddam had weapons of mass destruction (I consider WMD’s to be chemical and/or biological weapons). When the war was popular, democrats and republicans were all on board. When the war took an ugly turn, all of a sudden one party decided that they were not responsible and the George Bush did this all on his own…and worst of all people are accepting this. I saw the post that you are “simpleminded”. Once again, it implies this person somehow has the correct information and you are unfortunately not one of the enlightened ones. Thank you for speaking up and defending a tough position. To me, I think it has been very easy to second guess the war, the early war strategy and the current war strategy. I believe Saddam had violated the terms of the cease fire from the fist war more than 10 times. When he violated those terms and the information from George Tenet said that Saddam had WMD’s, the Congress gave Bush the authority to go. Everyone was on board and everyone shared responsibility in going there. In case I forgot to say it……go Raiders.

Rob,

Lincoln took away habeas corpus, and the Supreme Court ruled that is was unconstitutional.

You don't like the Constitution?

Congress was lied to by Bush and Co. about WMD's in Iraq. That is why they voted to allow the US to go to Iraq.

Rob you need to steer clear of the Bush/Lincoln comparison. Bush is more comparable to Nixon except Nixon cared too much about what people thought of him and Bush doesn't care at all. And "having the balls to finish what his daddy started" is what I thought about 4 years ago when it looked like this was a worthwhile endeavor. Now that they have clearly turned it into a clusterfuck he is not going to be able to "finish" anything. The next president will have to clean up the mess he made. And a 25% approval rating is proof that you are in the minority and need to stop watching racist, douchebag, jackass Fox News.

I watch Fox news and they always present both sides to an argument. You clearly get to see what a liberal thinks and a conservative thinks. They are all clearly identified up front who they support and what their agenda is. As a watcher, I listen to the different sides and make up my mind on which side I believe to be right. LDizzle’s very astute critique of racism, “douchebag” and “jackass” makes me wonder what is racist about presenting both sides?

And to think we were already having to stoop to your level before. Thanks Scott for digging a bit deeper to a sub human level. Everytime Scott sees black guys do a fist bump now he thinks they are terrorists. "Fair and Balanced" BWAAAAHAHAHA!!! What a loser. Only a blind follower like Scott accuses everyone who doesn't agree with him of being a "liberal". Typical statement for someone with nothing to contribute society or this conversation. I follow no party lines. I have voted Democratic, Republican, and Independent in my lifetime and not even NBC, CNN, or ABC are "fair and balanced" so I don't watch them either. But Fox is evil and shameless.

I want to read football opinions and get pumped for the season. The Raiders are my escape from all of that real world crap. Don't get me wrong, I know it has it's place. I just don't think it is here. This country is made up of people with different opinions and beliefs and that is what makes it great. This is Jodans' fault! If he wasn't such a fat slob-whiner of a running back he could get another team to look at him.
