Raiders get down to 75 by cutting James and Elling

The Raiders were only two players away from reaching the mandated maximum roster size of 75.  While the Raiders are still in need of a third receiver to fill the hole by the Drew Carter injury, they chose to instead thin their already thin ranks at the position by letting go of Drisan James.  While James hadn't done anything to merit a roster spot, the Raiders are still left needing to fill the vacancy at the receiver position.

A no-brainer move was the second roster cut of place kicker Aaron Elling which signals the return of starter Sebastian Janikowski for the final preseason game against the Seahawks this Friday night.  At this time, we've been able to identify a few players that are notable cuts with more to follow as the information comes in.

Here is a list of a few possible roster worthy additions:

RB - DeShawn Wynn

TE - Aaron Walker

WR - Jeremy Bloom

WR - Burl Toler

WR - Darnerien McCants

OT - Chris Liwienski

LB - Derrick Pope

DB - Curtis Deloatch

DB - Curome Cox

You might remember Jeremy Bloom as the Olympic Skiier that was ruled ineligible while at Colorado due to his skiing endorsements.  He's now failed with both the Eagles and the Steelers, but he's worth a look timing in around a 4.4 40-yard dash.  Burl Toler was with the Raiders in 2006 on the practice squad.

Michael Bush may be playing fullback in the near future.  They've already asked him to do it, and from some reports he's not all that happy about it.  He's a team player so he's already vowed to do his best at the position if he stays there.

Quick note, as reported last night, Nate Lyles did actually sign with the Raiders.

Leave it to Lane Kiffin to be searching for scraps this late in the game....is this article really about taking guys from teams that no one else wanted? For what may I ask?

Just a month ago, heading into camp, he sounded like he had all the ingredients needed for a recipe to create some success. Now, all we hear outta Raider Land is a list of excuses and a situation void of the one vital thing needed for success within any organization---CONFIDENCE!

Nowhere is "anyone" even taking any responsibility for this runaway train of a season we are heading into. Go figure.

On a positive note, looks like we'll be getting another top 5 pick in the draft this season, and if we put our heads together, maybe we'll just forgo this entire year and get the top pick next year by choice. Maybe Kiffin will just use the media as his communication tool and we can just tell opponents what our gameplans are each week. That way, we're guaranteed the TOP pick.

Ha ha ha!

So i have a question....since i know nothing about the raiders according to Patty cake....how well do you think Run DMC will do this year....personally i thought it was a good pick but I haven't got to watch him play....based on what I saw in college I'm think 1100 yds and 8 tds but i was wondering what you guys thought he would do....and since I am a chiefs fan how do you think LJ will do this year...A lot of fans think he is going to be really good but i don't know....let me know what you think? thanks..

Actually I think he will not be that good this year....I think he will be lucky to get 1000 yards this year and maybe 5 touchdowns but I think LJ will have a decent year but he plays for the Chiefs.....

Ian

Great question. I'll answer you, the rest of the fellas are busy accepting reality at the moment...oh and by the way ROB, try again. I am not your Mike 49er dude who hates on da Raiders, I am someone much more dangerous, especially to someone like YOU.

Back to my point....look for McFadden to struggle this season. He is surrounded by inexperience, and thats never a good thing. Unfortunately, Coach Kiffin is going to ride this kid like a slave this season. Once the "REAL:" games begin and the Raiders are struggling, he will be Coach Kiffin's scapegoat, so to speak. By week 4 or 5, he won't be sharing carries anymore with the likes of Fargas, he'll be the main guy.

He'll rush for 800-1000 yards this season, probably catch a few screens, and score what will amount to about 8 TD's for his rookie year. The less the Raiders use him, the more productive he'll become. The problem will be the opposite, since Kiffin will know by the bye week that his tenure with Oakland is up, he will no doubt attempt to make things appear as if they're not his fault. McFadden will probably be run into the ground, and will become injured as a result.

On a positive note....the more failure McFadden has to deal with in his early on will only mean greater things for him later in his career. He is the next Marcus Allen!

p.s.

LJ is going to have a good season. 1,500 yards....15 TD's

So when Kiffin is fired after the Raiders accomplish their sixth straight season of double digit losses, what will Al Davis have to say at the press conference to hire the next coach? Will he dust off those old tired cliches like "pride and poise" and "the greatness of the Raiders is in their future?' lmao. I know, I know. He will probably say "The Raiders are going to return to greatness and (insert next coach's name here) will bring us back. Regardless, I am looking forward to some more laughs in January from everyone's favorite senile old fool, Uncle Al Davis lmao.

Wow the haters just flock here when they think they have something to cling to besides their dads penis. Filth Whoresman is here (even though I wouldn't waste my time reading his nonsense) and Ian is here making lame attempts at taking a shot at Pat T. Pat I would take it as a compliment that he is making such an effort. That dead duck of a joke probably took him all night to come up with. I see voice of reason is back with his "I think I am smart because I am too ignorant to know better" routine. Wow how much he sounds like Mikewhiner is uncanny. Nice to see you all could take the time away from your jobs at the WalMart snackbar to stop by. Sorry Mike I didn't mean to insult you, I know your occupation is that of a glory hole attendant. Working in the service industry can be draining or in your case: filling

Oh and I like the idea of Darmerien McCants and Chris Liwienski being given a shot. Liwienski has to at least be better than Mario Henderson and McCants has been solid in the past.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Obviously the above "Voice of Reason" saw my handle, and adopted it, in the hopes one day he'll grow up to be just like yours truly.

Now, back to my personal little slapped on bitch, Lady Ditzle.

Are you still pouting?

I know, I know. All that bravado bullshit, and you got exposed as a clod..a fool...basically a clown.

BTW..kind of have bad news for ya, Ditzle.

When I post something and you follow it with a "You think you're so smart" what you're telling everyone is YOU'RE the one that considers what was posted as being "so smart".

See...NO WHERE did I ever state that.

You, however, have repeatedly.

You're impressed rather easily, aren't you?

Sorry Mike and Alias for getting the two of you mixed up. I didn't realize that Alias hijacked Mike's A.K.A.

Alias - Tough guys don't come on to message boards and talk about how dangerous they are. As far as you being dangerous to me, that was good! Got a really good laugh out of that.

Now you boys play with some honor or I'll delete your comments, like I did with Ian when he tried to pretend he was pat T. If you can't troll with at least the same handle, then find somewhere else to do it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sorry Mike and Alias for getting the two of you mixed up. I didn’t realize that Alias hijacked Mike’s A.K.A.

YNRCheck: You should be Bobbo. I mean, they even referred to the Raiders as "we". That should have been your first redflag.

If it happens again, I expect courtesy comps for the next Broadway hit.

==================================

Alias - Tough guys don’t come on to message boards and talk about how dangerous they are. As far as you being dangerous to me, that was good! Got a really good laugh out of that.

YNRCheck: They don't??? So, what you're saying is Pat T. and Kushman are Petunia's???

I wonder if they're aware of that?

Well, I won't be the one to tell them. Sometimes these things can be life altering, and watching grown men cry gives me the willies..if you know what I mean.

=====================================

Now you boys play with some honor or I’ll delete your comments, like I did with Ian when he tried to pretend he was pat T. If you can’t troll with at least the same handle, then find somewhere else to do it.

YNRCheck: wait a durn minute.

Uh...Eggo? There have only been a dozen or so posters obviously posting a comment, in the past, using my handle, all of which garnished nary a nod.

Why was it kosher then?

Ahhhh....got it. It's ok when Raider fans are posting deragatory comments using my handle, but if someone else does it with a Raider poster, such as the aforementioned Patricia, it's now a big no-no??

Convenient.

===========================

Thanks for stopping by.

YNRCheck: All those emails you sent me saying you miss me made me feel guilty.

Wait. Was that you?

Maybe it was Patrick. It was signed Big Lug.

Not sure at this point.
