Madsen back with the Raiders - Seth Wand put on IR

So the Raiders didn't let Madsen get away to another team. After being cut before the Buffalo game for the Ben Troupe free-agent signing, the Raiders recalled him from their unofficial practice squad by re-signing him today in place of the injured Seth Wand. Wand will go on the IR with a knee injury. This signing gives the Raiders four tight ends on the roster. It's an odd signing due to the fact that Madsen is not known for his blocking and had a terrible time catching passes from JaMarcus Russell before he was released. Madsen was already at practice this morning.

This may be another option on the medium passing game where Madsen won't block and will just be a target in the passing game. He will be another WR.

IIn my opinion Madson should've never been cut , he is the guy with the sure hands , everytime a pass was thrown his way it was a catch. I bet he will do better than the most of the guys on the team now . as you can see almost everyone is having trouble catching Russells passes, but you dont see them getting cut. hope he comes back and makes a big improvment. this other guy troupe has'nt even hit the field yet, what good is he to us if he cant even stay healthy , I truely hope we can get something going this week against the saints. I think madson will come in handy and pick up those hard first downs.
