Michael Bush to be traded?

Today on the pregame coverage, Charlie Casserly reported that the Raiders are shopping Michael Bush and Justin Fargas in hopes of getting an offer that they can't refuse.  The Raiders wouldn't trade both of them, but they would be open to trading either one for draft picks.  Darren McFadden wasn't mentioned as being on the trading block.

Chad 'Ocho Cinco' Johnson and Roy Williams, the receiver, are also reportedly up for grabs.  The Lions are looking for a second and a fifth round pick for Williams, while it's unknown what the Bengals would ask for Mr. Ocho Cinco.

Casserly also reported that teams may not be looking to get rid of draft picks this year because it's expected that the underclassmen coming out of college this year will be the deepest that the league has ever seen.  He speculated that the underclassmen would want to come out in order to avoid being limited, dollar-wise, by a new collective bargaining agreement.

If the Raiders were to trade Bush or Fargas, they would most likely need to find another running back to fill the roster spot.  With all three backs having injury histories, it may not be wise for the Raiders to make a move unless they are ready to call it a year.  The trade deadline is Tuesday afternoon so we won't have long to wait.

Rob-If they trade Bush or Fargas, which Bush would be the more likely of the two due to Fargas's cap acceleration, they would likely promote Louis Rankin from the practice squad to be the third back.

By the way the receivers have looked they should at least consider trading Bush or Fargas to get that WR they need. I know that draft picks are valuable but the season is already escaping the team and the team should try to help Russell giving him reliable targets. Has Al Davis seen Javon Walker do a dissapearing act? Lelie hasn't done nothing for an experienced receiver and Curry can't get open and when they throw to him he drops it.

I like th Rankin idea, as well, even as much as I've panned him. The problem is this- Bush has STARTED this season already with Fargas' injury problems and DMC's toe. I say Bush, but out of the conference because he will kill it for somebody else.

How on earth are we going to pay a Roy Williams? Why on earth would we pay a Chad Johnson? Let's get some picks and build some depth.

Too many cooks in the kitchen. Fargas had 6 million guaranteed on his 12 million/3 year contract. So if he was traded, at least the Raiders would take a 4 million hit next year. I like Bush, but he might have a brighter future somewhere else. For what McFadden is being paid, he needs to be the focus in the future.

Bush is the better long term back. I have been impressed with Bush so far and I think that he will continue to get better. I hope that we can keep him. The McFadden-Bush tandem could be a great combo for years. I don't see a team giving a #1 pick for Fargas or Bush but I think that is what I would ask for(maybe it is me being a myopic Raider fan). I would however give up Bush and maybe a later round draft pick for Boldin. But I think AZ is happy with their RB situation James, Hightower, and Arrington. But I think Bush is better than all of them, not sure if AZ's GM would agree.

I like Fargas. He runs hard and averages 5 yards a carry. Trade Michael Bush. He's younger and may get us back more in return. Package him to get Roy Williams.

BTW, I have no confidence in the Raiders ability to draft players. NONE

Why we need all three:

1. The running game is the only functioning part of our offense, if you break that up, we are sure to finish with less than 6 wins.

2. All three RB's show a history of injuries as pointed out in the article.

3. As S&B points out, our track record for picking talent is questionable on its best day. On its worst day we show tendencies of paying over a hundred million dollars to a few under achieving veterans. Why give up a decent back and risk getting another over paid dud?

The reality of our team is we have a very young QB who is not ready for prime time. This year is his rookie season and we need to accept that he is not going to lead us to victory this year. In fact we need to limit the damage he will do with errant passes and fumbling by simplifying things so he can achieve some success to build on.

My broken record is playing again………….poor management has relegated our team to irrelevance (yeah, I wish). Instead we are the laughing stock of the league. For me the highlight of the game (I am in the Los Angeles market and see our games on Channel 2) was when the network showed mercy and pulled us off the air at the beginning of the 4th quarter. We need changes ASAP and it starts with winning a game. I don’t think we have a plan for the future so I am not even going to worry about our long term success. I am just hopeful we can get through this season as quick as possible. I am putting a lot of my hope in teams that still don’t have a victory. As long as there are still some winless teams in the league, it keeps the spotlight off of our team.

Has to be Bush, there is no way we would send Fargas out unless we are getting a huge asset for him. we deffinatly need wide recievers because they all suck, we need fargas and mcfadden, we NEED TO GET RIDE OF HALL because he was a dumb investment, and we deffinatly can't get rid of any draft picks, but hey, we are used to the horrible decision making, damn this organization pisses me off!

I swear! IF Al or whoever pulls the trigger, pulls it on Bush, i'm done! Long time Raider fan! But Bush is our future! I just hope it wasnt only kiffin who knewthis. if that's as true as i'm afraid of it being true. well, then bye bye Bush! Go to another team, lions or bengals, and he WILL dominate! People, thsi is a young, fresh, and healthy, not to mention HUNGRY RB ! It is a must we, the Raiders, keep this guy! I hope marketing Fargas sunday was good enough to show other teams he's capable, again. I'm hoping Det/Cinci has some sort of interest for Fargas. He's a proven back, and when healthy he's a 1000yd RB. Let him go, keep our youthful RB core with Jemarcus. We need to trade for Fargas and 2nd rd pk to Detroit for Roy Williams! yea, i said it!!! Unless we can get TJ Hous, or Chad Johnson for the same deal. NO BUSH though! NO AL, stay away from him!

Raider Jay - How about Javon Walker for a 7th round pick? I can't believe how much we paid that guy. Sometimes cutting your losses early is better than holding on to a guy who checked out during the preseason.

Wow some of these trade ideas that you guys have are just retarded. No way we give up Fargas and a 2nd rounder for Roy Williams.

If the Raiders trade Bush for anything lower than a 2nd rounder, it will be a waste. Let us not forget that the Raiders spent the first pick of the 4th round to get him knowing that he wouldn't play his first year. He would have been a 1st rounder if he would not have gotten hurt. Now the Raiders need a return on their investment if they are going to trade him. I don't want to see him go and even more so, I don't want to see Fargas go but if the Raiders can get good value then they need to do something to improve this team. Although I am not sure it is the receivers that are the problem right now. The problem is Russell not getting the ball to them.

Bush would have been a first round pick if not for the broken leg his last year in college. They got Bush in the 4th, get rid of Fargas. Why rehab Bush for a year and let him go for a draft pick when the Raiders are awful at drafting?

Fargas is old and gets hurt too much...Trading Bush is stupid because he's young and talented. I wouldn't mind getting someone like Ocho Cinco or Roy Williams for him...Make it happen Al

yes let's bring ocho ... for for curry and bush and a 3 rind pick .. then make.him a captin and help pay for his name change as part of the promo .. good idea if it don't jumpstart the offense it sure can give help with hall in pratice and help teach the reciver crew some new tricks .. y would it make sense it gives cinci a real short down back and a reciver that doesn't talk and plays to there system .. It's a win for both sides...

p.s Santa I would like a good left tackle in the draft ... (just a heads up)

WEll, I am going to say...yea, we wont be doing anythign today! I really dont think anybody wil. Trades in the NFL are not that common.

But regarding Bush, Kiffin drafted him! Kiffin wanted this guy from day one. kiffin is gone, that makes Bush just a basic 3 RB now. He has shown signs of who he was in college, and what he is now. fargas is healthy, adding a 3rd rd pick and sending it to Detroit, i honestly think they would bite. roy has wanted out, and kevin smith isnt doing that great. we all know rudi johnson's story. Anyhow, i just love wasting my time remarking on these topics. i mean, has this site ever posted a true story that actually happens??
