RAMblings

Four Legs Good, Vol. 14

The Rams are on a winning streak.

You laugh, but who during the BYE week really saw the Rams winning their next two out of the gate?

Perpetual optimists, be on alert: if the Rams keep up this tear, they may actually find themselves in the thick of the NFC West race.

The NFC West title is like being crowned Mr. Irrelevant. It’s an honor that technically holds some weight, but, in the end, no one pays much attention to you.

(You know, because they make you throw up. Get it? …Let’s just get on to the links.)

- Apparently the Rams are looking to change their draft approach. Outside of hiring our friend 37, I’m not sure anything’s quite drastic enough to make a huge difference, at least in one year. As a side note (and fun fact?), people like to point out that the Rams have not had much success drafting in the later rounds. Well, they’re right. Going by the current depth chart, 9 Rams starters were team first-day draft picks; a grand total of one (Brandon Chillar) was chosen by the Rams on the second day.

- Yes, we see the nifty stat about the downfield passing and the nice O.J. Atogwe numbers. But can we really just focus on Barron’s injured neck? Is there any way we can keep him out of this week’s game against the Seahawks? Please?

- The Rams coaches are ready for Todd Steussie to return. Gee, I wonder why.

- Head over to stlouisramsx.com to see X’s post-game wrap-up of Rams vs. 49ers, v2.0.

- Apparently, until the Rams coaches figure out where to stick Steussie, they’re content rotating Rob Pettiti and Brandon Gorin. Is there any question why Linehan’s job security is in jeopardy?

- That’s not a headline you ever expect to read. (Note: Not for the faint of heart…)

I’d also like to take this opportunity to urge you all to vote for my university’s hero of the moment, Chase Daniel, in his Heisman quest. He’s currently in the thick of the fan vote (which counts for 5% of the total vote) and could use your support in competing against that daunted evildoer, Tim Tebow of the Florida Gators. Really, do you want that state to get any MORE attention? Weren’t those titles enough?
