RAMblings

Four Legs Good, Vol. 17

A Rams loss and a 49ers win gave the Rams jockeying position for the 2008 draft.

As it stands now, the Dolphins will almost certainly lock up the top spot; after collecting its first win of the season, 22-16 over Baltimore in overtime, Miami’s record stands at 1-13.

The Jets, Falcons and Rams all have three wins, while the 49ers, Chiefs, Raiders and Ravens all have four. Only Chicago and Cincinnati have five wins, meaning that while the Rams could play themselves out of a top-5 pick with two wins to close out the season (against the Steelers and the Cardinals), they are assured of at least a top-10 selection. Crack open the champagne, fellas.

- Why did I ever question O.J. Atogwe’s coverage skills? Tying for the NFC lead in interceptions and nabbing two passes (almost identical plays, by the way) off a future Hall-of-Famer? Are you kidding me?

- Funny, it wasn’t enough to get me a fantasy win either. And the #1 seed takes an early tumble…

- Could our special teams woes and Claude Wroten’s inactivity have something to do with each other? I’ll let you in on a little secret: don’t be fooled by the paragraphs’ proximity; they don’t.

-  Is this any surprise? Certainly no more than this.

- Jeff Gordon has a shocking admission from Scott Linehan: he’s frustrated. Whatever for, Scotty? You’ve at least got to applaud the consistency.

- Here’s a trip down memory lane: Remember how at the beginning of the season I wrote a guest column for another site detailing how the Rams would be better than the Steelers  in 2007? Well, while the Rams have made me eat my words all year long, my team could help avenge me by trouncing the Steel Curtain on Thursday. Don’t count on it, though.

Don’t forget that this week’s game is an early one! (And it’ll be televised!) See you all soon.
