RAMblings

Four Legs Good, Vol. 21

Obviously, I’m a little late with the timing of this post; this new semester is going to be a busy one for me, and I anticipate struggling as I try to keep up with RAMblings and MVN. I want to be up front with all of you about that.

Luckily, though, we’ve added a new writer here to help shoulder the load of all things Rams, Hal Schaeffer. If any of you out there have taken my advice and headed over to stlouisramsx at any point over the last few months, you may recognize Hal as our resident Doc(tor). I anticipate Hal will provide all of us with a sound opinion, not just in pure football analysis but with his medical and psychological expertise as well. Please join me in welcoming him to the site.

Most of the Rams news out there is (understandably) centering around the passing of owner Georgia Frontiere, so I’ll try to keep this brief.

- Jim Thomas at the Post-Dispatch does a pretty good job summing up the passage of ownership to Chip Rosenbloom. Pay special attention to the cross-ownership rule involving Stan Kroenke near the bottom.

- The players-only meetings at the end of the season may signify that Scott Linehan will be on a very short leash in 2008. (Also of note and contained therein, Adam Carriker’s shoulder injury in the season finale will require surgery.)

- Rams fans advocating the hiring of Ken Zampese for offensive coordinator may want to read this first.

- I couldn’t have articulated it better than Kyle Smith: Frontiere’s death brought on plenty of bad taste.

-  Finally, as a point of comparison, why doesn’t the Rams’ front office take a look at the Giants? Things can’t get much worse than they already are.

And speaking of the Giants, don’t hand the Lombardi Trophy over to the Patriots just because they won in the regular season - your Rams are proof that things don’t always go the way we expect.
