Official Ravens - Jets Game Thread
Welcome to week 2. For the second week you are invited to give your views as the game progresses. Keep it clean, but say what you see. Mike B. is at the game, so Mike Z. and anyone else who is here will give you their insights to the game.
UPADATE: Well for some reason my comments are not posting to the thread. I am working on it to figure out why

Well, I’m waiting for network to switch over to the Ravens’ game. They are showing the Cards vs Seahawks and Bengals vs Browns right now.

At least they are running the football now.

3 and out; hopefully we don’t hear that all game long from the Raven’s O

Solid throw by Boller. Hopefully, we can throw the football down the field.

Thank God that ball was overthrown or that would’ve been a TD.
E-ROC, my comments are not posting to the thread….Mike Z.

Demetrius Williams is growing before our eyes. He is easily our best receiver.
I guess I will have to do it this way. Yes Williams is impressive

I guess Billick is playing ball control again. We’re running the football more than we did last game. And Boller is dumping the off effectively. QB controversy?! Maybe

What was Cory Ivey thinking? Wrap up!!
He was definitely lucky on that. ….Z

I guess it helps to have a little luck on your side, meaning the Jets. There is no way they should still have the ball; from Ivy not wrapping up to that fluke play by Clemens.

Yamon Figurs making an impact. I guess running a 4.29 in the 40 yrd dash can do that for ya.
Yeah, this game is definitely starting out more positively than Monday night….Mike Z
Jamal Lewis 216 against the Bengals, maybe the Ravens should have ran it more….Mike Z

It’s always nice to have the luxury of Matt Stover.
Mason was lucky that wasn’t an interception, he has to move to the ball in that situation….Mike Z

I am not feelin’ the routes that are being given to the receivers. Throw the ball deep.

Nice catch by Heap! Heap Heap Hoorah!!

Well, two things:
The offense is still lacking that big punch. The receivers couldn’t get any separation at all throughout the game. Boller was relegated to dumping off to the TEs and RBs. I don’t think that bodes well for the future. There were two guys that have big play ability, Heap and Williams. The Ravens should trade for a speedy big play receiver or incorporate Figurs into the gameplan, no matter how raw he is. Just run him on some slants and/or deep patterns
The defense got bored in the second half and that’s troubling. Maybe you give Clemens some credit for keeping his head into game, but there were WAY too many GAPING HOLES in the secondary. Maybe, next they’ll play hard throughout the whole game.
Maybe there is a third thing that I notice. Ummmm….QB controversy?! Look, I like Steve McNair. I think he’s a great guy and leader. But I don’t think he did anything this off-season as far as conditioning goes. He just doesn’t look fit, IMO. I’m not saying we should hand the reigns over to Boller, but he should continue to get a look as a starting QB. Just my opinion. Go Ravens!

Trevor Pryce broke his wrist in yesterday’s game. That’s not good news. Looks like Barnes and Edgar will need to step up in his absence. Pryce might play with a club on his arm. We’ll see. Tank Johnson anyone??!! lol, I might be reaching.
