A few quick notes…
Well here we are, week 16, game 15 of the 2007/08 season. There has been some news out of Raven’s HQ today, whether good or bad take your pick.
First CMac is done for the season. He has been placed on injured reserve for a knee sprain. I have to think back to the week he was originally hurt. ESPN had reported the injury was worse than reported and that CMac would be out 4 - 6 weeks. They said he had a tear. Brian Billick reported at the time they were way off. Now hear we are and he is done for the season.
Second news is that it is being reported here in BMore that Brian Billick had a meeting with Bisciotti and Newsome where he was told he WOULD be back for another season. I predicted this, I think Mike B predicted this, and I think deep down you all new this. It really does not make sense to drop him now. He did lead the team to 13 - 3 last season and a Super Bowl in 2001. As I said he wasn’t the one who fumbled and threw the interceptions. That was one of the killers for this team this season. Now there are a lot of things that he does control that HE is responsible for. The play calling, the lack of focus and discipline to name a few things.
There are a few things that will need to be addressed this off season, The defensive secondary and the offense are the two biggest things. Well a fix to the pass rush too.

ok so I dreaming it was week 16 game 15. But in reality it is week 15, game 14. Sorry all.

It’s okay, Mike Z, this season just feels a week older than it really is because of the losing…..But on a positive note, I’m glad the Billick situation is stabilized now so we can avoid all the post-season drama about the Head Coach. Now we can concentrate on the Ravens desktop that really counts—the one in Ozzie’s office—and begin following the GM game of personnel cuts, acquisitions, and overall team direction.

I hope Ozzie can trade for a veteran starter QB if Steve McNair can’t go full-tilt next year. Problem is, who’s out there? Vinnie? Chris Redman? You’re right, Wacko, it’s all on Ozzie now.

P.S. Can someone explain to me how the heck the salary cap works?

Ah, the salary cap - I don’t know how it works, but here’s some guy arguing that it doesn’t work:

there is basically a salary cap in the NFL and teams can not go over that. Mike Brown probably understands it a little better than I do. He tends to know the technical stuff better than me. There are different rules and stuff as to what counts against the cap and what doesn’t.
